Work in Progress (working title: Rotten) Part 1
Eddie Munson lived in frizzy curls, black hankies in right pockets, a pack of camels, and the scritch of a pen in a notebook. Eddie "the Freak" existed in devil horns, impassioned speeches about societal injustice on top of trampled sandwiches, F-ridden report cards, the stench of weed, and a throne in the drama room. Eds existed in a trailer park, a gruff voice calling out to him, tears that were wiped away by calloused hands, and a bedroom gifted for him to keep. Devil Worshipper existed in crosses held tight, green varsity jackets, a strawberry blonde ponytail accompanied by sweet giggles, and an empty house filled with drugs that let him float just like her. Eddie existed in swooped brown hair, bat heads bit off just like Ozzy, a burning want for a man uninterested, the stabbing of Cupid's arrow pointed to tie the king to his blue-eyed princess, and a jester hiding behind a spiked shield. The Hero existed in the wail of a guitar, the flapping of wings, bloody bites, an ankle injured, too much blood, and a slip into darkness.
Now, Eddie Munson lived in scarred flesh that pulled too tight, nightmares that left permanent dark circles, curls left matted in tangles, fingernails bitten to the quick, a body whose ribs stuck out more than they used to, and voicemails that piled up in endless worry. Eddie was no more than a ghost, decaying with each breath he took, refusing to let anyone get close.
Steve was worried. No one had heard from Eddie for the past couple of months after everything. Steve knew Eddie was alone. The government goons had found a better job for Wayne, but it was all the way in Chicago. Eddie was alone in the new trailer he had been given; a poor consolation for the damage the Upside Down had done to him. Eddie refused to answer the phone or the incessant knocking at his door. The couple of times that Steve or the party had spotted Eddie, he looked horrifying, emaciated, haunted. It irked Steve, dug under his skin like bugs burrowing in the ground. It ate away at his mind, pushed the button in his brain that wanted everyone to be okay. Steve couldn't stand it.
Hello! It's Silas, finally back. I got writer's block for awhile, but felt inspired after getting on some ADHD meds, so hopefully I'll be writing more. I am currently looking forward writing more Steddie content and potentially EMT Steve as I work through my EMT course. Hope you enjoyed this! I'll probs write more for it. Title is a work in progress. Silas
