What kind of person was Abby Brooks before she put on the headset? Was she anything like Pomni?

I feel like I wasn’t clear enough in my last post on the matter.

I’m really interested in knowing the kind of person Abby Brooks was before she put on that headset. Was she just as nervous, anxious, and timid as Pomni or was she braver and more adventurous?

How much of Pomni’s personality is a direct result of entering the Circus and how much of it was Abby Brooks’ natural personality?

Was Pomni nervous and anxious before she entered the Circus?

I was going to say “meek” and “timid,” but I’m not sure those phrases fit her.

Anyway, the Pomni we see in the pilot just doesn’t seem like the type of person to explore abandoned buildings or post herself on YouTube. She seemed extremely hesitant and scared, lacking assertiveness and confidence.

Was she like this in real life (as Abby Brooks) or was it all just a result of her entering the Circus?

If so, when did Pomni start acting like her true self? Episode 6?

Did Jax’s hatred of Spudsy’s tie into his later development?

Was it foreshadowing for anything?

Mine was “A Very Special Digital Circus Song.” It was funny, I liked hearing the cast sing for the first time, and I love “Modern Major General.”

Still bummed we never got to see the carnival.

I guess they couldn’t afford to animate it.

What’s something you wish the show had done more of?

I already talked in my review about how I wanted more interactions between Pomni, Zooble, and Gangle and more development with Ragatha, Kinger, and Zooble.

What more did you want?

I wish we could have seen Ragatha fully overcome her mom issues.

Yes, she learned to stop with the false positivity, but scenes like this show that it’s still there.

I feel so bad for her.

Would Jax actually do this if Zooble abstracted?

This was one of the most uncomfortable moments in the show for me (and yes, I know that was the point) and it really made me think: Was this just an intrusive fantasy or would Jax have actually done this if Zooble abstracted?

I still really want to know what Kinger did that caused Queenie to abstract.

It’s a shame we’ll never know because the shoe is over.

This really made me uncomfortable.

I know it was just a “what if” vision, but it’s still scary for Jax to even consider doing this.

I know she was abused. I know she doesn’t know any better. However, she’s still coercing her abuse victim into sex. It’s messed up no matter how you view it.

And it just makes me feel worse for Gangle. She’s been tormented by Jax since Day 1. The idea of her having any sort of intimate relationship with her (especially as a replacement for Zooble) just makes me cringe.

Liked the ending, wish there was more to the journey.

I’m happy with how the show ended. I wanted the characters to end up happy despite their circumstances.

That being said, I think the show’s journey could have been a bit more fleshed out. I wish we could have spent more time learning about Ragatha, Kinger, and Zooble. As others have pointed out, Pomni really should have interacted more with Gangle or Zooble. I also think Caine’s redemption felt a bit rushed and the characters forgave him a bit quickly.

So yeah, the ending was good, but the journey could have used some more work.

Does Ragatha have a crush on Pomni?

I’ve always viewed them as just really close friends, but a lot of fans tell me otherwise.

Does Ragatha (whom I know is a lesbian) have a crush on Pomni?

If so, why’d the show not confirm it or have her confess it to Pomni?

Sex wasn’t possible, so what were they going to do?

Gooseworx implied something sexual, but given their circumstances, I’m curious as to how that would even have been possible.

I mean, they had to know at this point that sex and physical pleasure wasn’t possible. Heck, they didn’t even have privates. So, how could they possibly have gotten intimate?

What, were they just going to kiss and rub against each other to see if they felt anything?

I hope Leah (Ribbit’s human self) got a happy ending.

Did she make peace with her parents? Did she find friends or a partner who treated her well? I really want to know.

They really got me to care about her in the small amount of screen time she had.

What will Pomni and Ragatha do if they get lonely?

I know it’s a popular ship, but I firmly believe that Ragatha and Pomni just see each other as close friends and don't have any romantic sparks between them.

Still, as shown with Zooble, you CAN feel sexual urges in the Circus. And Caine did make it possible for them to have sex in the end.

Zooble and Gangle are together and I like to think Kinger wants to stay fateful to Queenie.

So…what? Will Caine create NPC partners for them? Or will they just have to wait for another player to enter the game?

I’d rather not picture them hooking up.

How much of a difference could Queenie have made if she'd stuck around till we got the main group?

I read in one post that she'd have been a mother figure to Ragatha. I like that.

In fact, I can imagine she'd have been somewhat of a mother figure to the whole group. She'd have been supportive of Gangle's art, been sympathetic of Zooble's body dysmorphia, and maybe even helped Jax out of the closet. If Ribbit had still been around, Queenie could have been the mother figure she needed too.

Or am I being too optimistic?

Not sure how I feel about RibbitxPomni.

Call me crazy, but for the longest time, I liked to imagine that the Circus members didn't have romantic or sexual feelings for each other (aside from Kinger and Queenie) and that they only saw each other as friends.

Yeah, I know this is hypothetical, but still. It's a ship I'd never predict.
