REPORT: Lawmakers Agree To Destroy Florida School Building Where Shooting Happened

On Friday, lawmakers in Florida indicated that they will provide resources to Broward School District so they can tear down Building 12 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which is where the shooting from this week's tragic massacre occurred.

Look I know this will be a sensitive subject for people but, 25 to 30 million dollars to tear down and rebuild a school! Remodel it, make improvements to it he’ll sell it and build a new building somewhere else, but spending 30 plus million dollars because of this tragedy is to me another win for the little murderous bastard! Use that money for improvements to security for the WHOLE state! Use it to facilitate more security officers or police! Scraping a multimillion dollar building because of a tragedy is in itself another tragedy. How about converting it into a homeless shelter or a facility for abused women and children. It could be converted into a trade school for those in need of jobs done with money from businesses in the state. How about anything that improves the lives of Americans while also not wasting 30 plus million dollars!

Since it was an image of a tweet, not a link to the news story, I had to go track it down. The CNN story starts thusly:

“So many Christians are like this, and these people scandalize others,” Francis said during morning Mass at Casa Santa Marta, according to Vatican Radio. “How many times have we heard – all of us, around the neighborhood and elsewhere – ‘But to be a Catholic like that, it’s better to be an atheist.’ It is that: scandal.”

And it continues on from there. Pope Francis was preaching on Mark 9:41-50, which is the bit where Jesus says stuff like “whoever causes on of these little ones to sin, it would be better if he put a millstone around his neck and threw it in the sea.” The pope’s homily (in what is a textbook definition of a homily) took Jesus’ words from the Bible and faithfully applied them to modern life. This homily couldn’t even be potentially interpreted as a departure from long-standing Catholic teaching, either. He practically read straight from the Catholic Catechism.

So, yeah. Pope reminds shitty Christians what Jesus actually said (and what the Church actually teaches), shitty Christians declare that the Pope isn’t a Christian.

1) Public schools are a social program run by the government, not by the free market. Baltimore & its school system is run entirely by democrats, so take it up with them.

2)There is no increase in homelessness. Homelessness has been on a steady decrease for decades. Only a fraction of a percent of Americans are homeless.

3)There is no increase in child poverty in American citizens. Americans have one of the highest standards of living in the world. Over half of all Americans rate globally in the “high-income” group. And most of America’s “poor” are actually globally rated as upper-middle income.

Sorry for the longposting but my God, this person is seriously comparing the US to a country that is actually so poor that they have run out of toilet paper and are forced to eat their own zoo animals. Americas crony-capitalism isn’t great, but there’s no reasonable person who’d rather be in a Venezuelan food riot than living in the US right now.

What’s most interesting though is that mainstream media doesn’t even mention female shooters when they claim to show the history of the crime — but I guess they’re going by high scores. In the end this is the truth: both genders commit crimes, some types more than others but violence is a human issue and not a gender issue. If you look into the reports of all of these school shootings for example you’ll start to notice that mental health disorders and illnesses are a common theme among others like poor living conditions and/or a history of abuse but are dismissed for a simplistic, apathetic excuse like “misogyny” or “man equal violent”. What a coincidence that the mental health and victimization of males is not in the slightest taken seriously in this country until they act out and hurt someone, especially if that someone is a woman. But even then it becomes a crusade to maximize punishment rather than to understand what made this individual behave in a negative way. If males make up over 90% of the prison population and if the prison industrial complex is any indication of what harsh punishment does to men, wouldn’t it make sense to take their issues a little more fucking seriously than to just dismiss them outright based on your personal baggage or your political agenda?

The Truth About Hoover & FDR

Many people believe that FDR saved us from capitalism, which was destroying itself, and from the Hoover administration which was prior to his, because it was so laissez faire and “hands off.”  It’s a big lie.

Not only was Herbert Hoover not laissez faire, he intervened like no President had done before.  Even FDR admitted, “we didn’t admit it at the time, but practically the whole New Deal was extrapolated from programs that Hoover started.”

He did not learn the lesson of something he should have learned because he was very much involved with politics at the time, and that was the depression of 1921 after World War I.  Back then, even though it was the first depression that came after the Fed was organized, they still had an attitude of “hands off.”  So, the depression was bad but only lasted a short time. But when the [Great] Depression hit, Hoover came in and he was a super interventionist. 

This may surprise a lot of people, but when FDR was campaigning he was complaining about the socialism of the Hoover administration.  Just a few weeks before the election, FDR said, “ you can never expect any important economy from this [Hoover] Administration. It is committed to the idea that we ought to center control of everything in Washington as rapidly as possible Federal control.  I regard reduction in Federal spending as one of the most important issues of this campaign. In my opinion it is the most direct and effective contribution that Government can make to business.”
