What do you think was going on in Bucky’s head after the Walker fight and he throws the shield back to Sam? And was his anger or frustration justified/understandable? Or was just being terrible and out of line in that moment?
I couldn’t begin to imagine how things operate in that head of his, haha. I feel like there was a lot of resentment. Towards John, towards Sam, towards the whole situation. That moment and the way he looks at Sam came across as a accusation and a challenge to me. After everything that had happened and the way that the legacy of the shield, Steve’s legacy, had been twisted by Walker it would have seemed...wrong, I guess?, for Sam to refuse it again in that moment and it almost seemed like Bucky was daring him to.
I think that’s why later when Bucky apologizes, he makes sure to tell Sam that how things played out with Walker was not his fault.
As for whether his actions were justified...I’d say absolutely not. That moment honestly pissed me off. I say he was out of line for that. To me, Bucky’s emotions regarding the shield are understandable but in no way, shape, or form was the shit that he gave Sam about it justified. Bucky was too caught up in his own issues and he never once tried to understand why Sam refused the mantle of Cap and the reasoning behind it.
It especially bothered me considering all the compassion and concern Sam showed Bucky, even when he was being an asshole.
Thanks for the question, nonnie!
Let it be known that this man, Mr.Sam Wilson, CAPTAIN AMERICA HIMSELF, made the (former) deadliest assassin in the world have the heartiest heart eyes to ever heart eye for him .
Not the Steve Roger's apologist trying to preach to me
Yall wanna talk about how everyone demonized Tony Stark for bringing Peter Parker into Civil War but praised Cap for doing the exact same thing with Wanda? I guess yall choose to forget what a kid is with him, huh?
I'm not saying Steve is a bad character or anything but I do think a lot of his fans forget that he isn't always right about something. He takes zero accountability for his actions and dragged multiple people including Wanda into a fight for his best friend instead of trying to talk something out
But yeah I clearly ignored the whole movie
(This is screenshotted instead of directly replied to because when I click on the response it won't load. Maybe they tried to delete it idk)
“If you are nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.”
Tony Stark has been told MULTIPLE TIMES that he's nothing without his suit. Avengers 1, Cap tells Tony if he has his suit he can't do shit. Natasha tells him that Iron Man is accepted into the Avengers but Tony himself isn't. He's been told so many times that he's nothing without his suit so he proves multiple times that he doesn't need it
So imagine how he feels when he hears his new apprentice Peter Parker tell him that he's nothing without the suit. Some people say it was cruel to take his suit away, but Peter really needed to learn that the person inside of the suit was the one who really mattered, not the suit itself
Tony's catchphrase is "I am Iron Man"
To me thats him declaring over and over again that Tony Stark IS Iron Man. There's no one without the other. They can't get Iron Man without Tony Stark. They can't put someone else in the suit and get Iron Man. Iron Man and Tony Stark are the same person
And that's exactly the mindset he wanted Peter to have. Spiderman may have been a hero but so was Peter Parker, the one wearing the suit
Steve really got THAT pissed off at Tony because he was keeping Wanda in the compound with Vision. Considering the other option was prison because she murdered people, I still find his anger confusing
Honestly Cap in Civil War altogether was super confusing... Fuck it, Civil War itself was confusing
"She's a KID" *Forces the same child to fight for his cause*
People who list their Marvel crushes and then don't name a single black character are always sus as hell to me
Like damn might as well call me a slur at this point
Anyway Sam, Rhodey, Valkyrie, Monica, Maria, Riri and every other black character in Marvel and any other comic deserves love
I'll just sit here and wait for yall to remember that Tony and Rhodey's friendship is just as important as Steve and Bucky's
Yall only focus on the latter because they're both white. Don't worry you don't have to deny it, it's already obvious
And this isn't hating on Steve and Bucky's friendship at all but yall gotta realize that Tony and Rhodey have been there for each other since the beginning as well
And not to throw shade but... Tony and Rhodey were ACTUALLY there until the end of the line for each other... I'll just leave yall to think about that
Some of yall think Bucky needs to be babied because of his trauma and its becoming a problem
Yes he's a POW, yes he's been through a lot of traumatic experiences
But he's also a grown ass man, not a child. For some reason yall expect no one to joke around with him or argue with him because he's been through a lot, but that's not how this shit works
He's still a person, he's working to be a normal person
You think he wants everyone tip toeing around him instead of treating him like everyone else is treated?
Bucky may have been trusted to come to the neighborhood cookout
But he was also only trusted with bringing a single store bought cake
Baby steps, white boy
I'm actually really glad TFATWS didn't have Bucky try to explain himself to Yori. After finding out that his new friend was the one who killed his son, I guarantee you hearing Bucky's sob story at the time wouldn't have helped any
Keeping it at "I didn't have a choice" Instead of "I was kidnapped and brainwashed for decades" was overall the better choice. If Bucky had tried to further explain this he would've only victimized himself during a moment that wasn't about him

Some of yall keep responding to this saying "Sam has two hands" as if I ever said any different
This is a biggest fan battle not perfect boyfriend battle
When I say Sam has two hands I mean for Bucky and Torres
With all due respect Steve lost his chance
Yall wouldn't even know Iron Man was my favorite character with how much I talk about Falcon
