lin is very frugal with her money. despite the large inheritance left to toph && her daughters when her grandparents passed away, lin doesn’t like to spend money on frivolous things. a third of her portion of the inheritance was tucked immediately into a savings account, && the rest was dived up among various charities in the city. she also pulls about 15% to 20% of her check immediately when received && donates it to various schools && charities. in her time as chief of police, as a side project, lin has helped create two scholarship programs. one is targeted at disadvantaged benders, helping fund their education && training to master their skills. the other targets single-parent households, helping to fund the education of all children ( bender && non-bender ) in the hopes of bettering their lives && keeping children off the streets.
