new students arrive aboard enchanted trains that wind through the forests of Grimrose Hollow. the final portion of the journey occurs after sunset. as the train rounds the last mountain pass, Grimrose Academy emerges from the mist—its illuminated towers reflecting in the surrounding lakes like something from a dream.
upon arrival, students cross the Rose Bridge and enter the Grand Atrium where faculty welcome them beneath towering stained-glass windows depicting the Five Roses. the atmosphere is equal parts excitement and intimidation. many students remember this moment for the rest of their lives.
