20: Youâre laying in a hospital bed, about to take your last breath. Any final words?
I miss my husband, I miss my sonâŚI miss how our life was all together. I miss how things used to be years ago.
35: How different was your life one year ago?
Very different. Things have changed so much since my son diedâŚespecially the relationship between my husband and I. Thereâs so much more I could say, but itâs still very hard talking about everything thatâs happenedâŚ

âWho cares? He cheated. Leave his ass.â
âI donât know...Itâs so much easier said than done,â Isabella said knowing that it was stupid talking like this. He did cheat and she should leave him, but she didnât know if she could do that. Not yet anyways.

âThanks. Iâm super excited about it - this musical is going to be only my second big production since I started in the industry, so itâs such a big deal for me. It would be great if you could go,â Diamond explained, beaming, her excitement at her work being beyond evident. She grinned at Isabella, and gave a light laugh, âI think my mother agrees with you. She loves telling that to everyone who asks about my nameâŚSo what is it that you do for a living?âÂ
âAww, that really is amazing and Iâll plan to go, for sure,â Isabella said grinning at her happiness before chuckling a little bit. âIâm sure she does all the time,â she said continuing to smile as she looked at her. âIâm a social worker. A little less exciting than what you do, but I love it so much.â
averygracetbâ:
âAnother woman? I would just tell him goodbye. My ex told me he was in love with another woman during one of our marriage counseling sessions and I still feel stupid for letting him play both sides the way that he did. Take the upper hand here while you have it and leave him for good.â
Isabella looked down at the ground as she listened to her words. Biting down on her lower lip, she nodded and looked back up to her after a moment. âI know I should, but Iâm not even sure if this is like a phase for him or if heâs actually in love with this woman.â
rainemedinaâ:
âThatâs what Iâve been doing too. Usually starting conversations with strangers too, even if they think Iâm crazy.â
âWell, I was a stranger before I introduced myself, but I get how people can think like that sometimes,â Isabella said with a chuckle. âI donât think youâre crazy.â
diamondxcareyâ:
âI was recently cast as the lead of the new Broadway show thatâs going to be running this fall at the Broadway in Chicago theatre, and rehearsal was brutal. Iâm just tired,â Diamond explained, briefly, before giving a soft laugh as the brunette questioned her name. âHonestly? My parents are weird, and they may have been high, but they said that they knew the moment I was born, I was meant to shine, or sparkle, or something.â She huffed and rolled her eyes, in affectionate humor at her parents. âLike I said, theyâre weirdâŚItâs nice to meet you, Isabella.â
âHoly shit, thatâs awesome,â Isabella said very impressed with the woman standing before her. âPersonally, Iâve never been to a Broadway show before but Iâd love to go someday. Maybe Iâll go to the one youâre in, in the fall,â she said smiling before laughing a bit at her words and nodded. âWell, I think thatâs a beautiful story.â
averygracetbâ:
Avery wasnât entirely sure that she wanted to bond with someone over something like divorce and separations. However, maybe having a friend who understood would help her as well. âMy husband and I were separated for almost two years before we divorced. I hope yours ends better than that.â
âOh wow,â was all Isabella could say at the moment. Honestly, it was nice that she could talk to someone who went through a smilier situation. âI hope mine ends better than yours, but Iâm not sure...â She bit down on her lower lip. âThereâs another woman involved and I donât know what to do.â
averygracetbâ:
Avery had never been one to blindly make friends as her personality could be quite off putting, but Isabella didnât seem to mind either way. âI know the feeling.â She muttered to herself. âWhatâs wrong?â
âYeah?â Isabella asked with a tilt of her head, already feeling that she could somehow trust this blonde woman. âMy husband and I are currently separated just because a lot of shit has happened recently.â
rainemedinaâ:
âI want to love this city, but Iâve just been feeling a little bit lonely,â Raine said, âAll I do is go to work and then come home, with only the company of my cat.â
Isabella nodded along to her words and sighed softly. âI get that. Itâs always hard making friends, especially when moving into a new city. So, I went on a lot of walks around the city and stopped in coffee shops to try and make friends,â she told her smiling. âIt took some time, but it worked...and Iâm still working on it today.â
diamondxcareyâ:
âWell Iâm glad I was able to get it back to you before you really lost it, then,â Diamond said, genuinely glad she was able to do such a favor for the woman. She knew what it was like to lose a valuable piece of jewelry - sheâd lost a precious necklace just last year that had been gifted to her on her 16th birthday by her grandmother, who was now deceased. It still ate her up inside whenever she thought about it. âIt has been a treacherously long morning,â she said in agreement, remembering the morning audition sheâd just come out of, before giving the brunette another smile, before introducing herself, âIâm Diamond Harvard-CareyâŚitâs a bit of a mouthful, but yeah. Thatâs me. Whatâs your name?â
âMe too,â was all Isabella could say about the topic of her necklace almost getting lost. âWhy so treacherous for you?â She asked wondering before smiling hearing her introducing herself. âDiamond...thatâs a very pretty name. Can I ask why your parents named you Diamond?â She asked, again wondering. âMy name is Isabella. Itâs a pleasure to meet you.â
TEXT | BECKETT & ISABELLA
Beckett: "That is true and I've been thinking about you a lot. Maybe you should come over so I can show you what I've been thinking about."
Isabella: She bit down on her lower lip, staying quiet for a moment as she thought. Maybe she could help him sober up a bit. "Okay. I'm on my way."
TEXT | BECKETT & ISABELLA
Beckett: "No. I graded papers all night. It was boring."
Isabella: "At least you got it all done though. Gives you time to relax...and think about me," she teased with more of a smile.
TEXT | BECKETT & ISABELLA
Beckett: He had never been much of a drinker, but on the nights he was alone now he couldn't help himself. He answered the phone after a few rings. "Hi baby." His words slurred as he spoke.
Isabella: Once he answered the phone, she heard the slurring in his voice and she sighed before smiling a little. "Hey you," she said before biting down on her lower lip. "Have you been having fun tonight?"
rainemedinaâ:
âIs your husband Beckett? Iâve met him, he was telling me about the vacation and it sounded lovely,â Raine smiled, and then her smile grew. âThat would be wonderful, thank you.â
Isabella bit down on her lower lip at the mention of Beckett and she nodded before smiling some again. âYes, heâs my husband and it really was lovely. We had the best time,â she said before nodding. âOf course. I love this city so much and Iâm hopeful that youâll love it too.â
diamondxcareyâ:
âItâs nothing, but youâre welcome. Yeah, I donât blame you - it looks special,â Diamond agreed, briefly taking in the very pretty design of the necklace before it was placed in itâs ownerâs purse. She returned the smile at the offer of a coffee, and normally she would have turned it down, but she desperately needed a cup, and so instead she nodded her head, âSure, thanks. Itâs been a long morning, and I could definitely use one.â
âMy husband gave it to me a few years back,â Isabella said with a small smile before switching topics and smiling some more. âOh, of course. Iâve had a long morning as well so coffee sounds wonderful,â she said with a soft chuckle. âWhatâs your name?â
