“The only place I want to be is pressed against you with your arms wrapped around me and our legs intertwined, talking about everything and nothing all at once.”
— excerpts from a book I’ll never write
“Words stopped winning me over when actions didn’t prove them.”
— - audreythewriter
“She was always left behind—by the people she loved, by time, by life.”

Melancholy
He did love me, he just hated himself more.
and she stays.
she stays even when everything in her is telling her to run.
she stays even if its killing her.
she stays even if she has nothing left to give.
she stays.
because she did not love herself enough to leave.
I’m glad we ended where we did; our story never would’ve had a happy ending. You’d just keep taking, and I’d just keep giving.
Poetry At Most
“I know that you’re afraid that you’re still in love with him. I know that you’re scared that you’ll be empty without him, that the best parts of yourself are wrapped up in the worst parts of him. You think that if he lets you go, you’ll look around your life and not recognize anything. You think that if you let him go, you’ll regret it, more than any choice you’ve made in your entire life. Because love is complicated. Love is messy. But babygirl, you weren’t empty before you met him and you damn sure aren't empty now. So what if you’re still a little in love with him? Love is about choices. So make the choice to seek closure, to move forward instead of being stuck in his toxic orbit. Extricating yourself from your past isn’t easy. But you can’t move on without feeling everything that comes with saying goodbye. You can’t fully embrace everything that the universe wants to place in your lap without letting go of the burden still clawing its way into your heart. And if there is some space in your heart after he leaves, fill it with love - for your parents, for your kid brother, for the professor that saved your life. But honestly? I really hope you fill it with love for yourself.”
— L.A.L. || I know it’s hard. It feels impossible. But I also know that you’ll be so much better for it.
Healing is important, but sometimes we don’t let ourselves heal. Sometimes we love someone so much that when they leave, we let the hole they left behind stay empty, in case they ever decide to come back again.

You were my chaos, but you were also my peace.
– p.n.
I think you know you’re really over a person when you don’t wish anything bad upon them. You’re not filled with anger anymore, and you don’t want revenge. You just genuinely hope they’re happy.
Even if they did you wrong. Even if they never checked on you.
I really hope the people I’ve loved are getting home safely every night. But I’m not up all night wondering whether they did or not anymore.
I’ve discovered that the definition of pain is a name.
I removed all potential forms of communication, I cut you off at the source just in case you began to feel some sort of remorse & felt like coming back. I know you won’t but I am in no position to take any more chances w/ you. The funny thing is that as scared I was to take that step, once I did I finally felt like I could breathe for the first time in 6 months. You left, you chose her & I am removing myself from the narrative. I don’t want to be friends or stay in touch or reconnect one day. As bitter as that sounds I promise its not, its me finally realizing that I was always more than you deserved & I’m ready to treat myself as such. Thank you for breaking me again & thank you for allowing me to FINALLY realize what I deserve & its never been nor will it ever be you.
Nonexistent
Its ironic that my favorite person isn’t even a person anymore
Please, please, please don’t come back. i dont think i could survive losing you again. i havent even survived this time in all honesty.
I believed we had a chance. That your lips would crash against mine and our tangled bodies would shake the stars. But you were distant, afraid of what could’ve been. You left me countless times and yet I still ran after you. I had hope that you would see that what we had was something that only happened in movies. But only my heart burned and you gave me yours as a souvenir. I cried over what could’ve been and the absence that plagued me. And so, we all die alike, with nothing in our arms and our hearts belonging to few.

Empty Mornings Without You .
There are mornings that I wake up, and it’s so hard to face the day; the sun is shining into my room, but inside I’m cold and grey. Outside the birds are singing, to greet a bright new morn, but inside my heart is crying; inside I’m ripped and torn. I weep into my pillows, reluctant for to rise; to go and face the world again, beneath the bleeding skies. Your love was what I lived for; your laughter and your song, and without your love to fill me, I just cant carry on. Ambrose Harte Scattered Thoughts
