Okay I am just gonna ramble about azriel’s hands for a while don’t mind me one bit
Okay they are most obviously textured, those scars are gonna be raised, the skin is hard and unforgiving and tough for some people to look at because the scars are that prominent encompassing both of his whole hands
Azriel subconsciously always tries to hid his hands, whether it’s within his pant pockets, or his hands clasped behind his back, or tugging his arm sleeves further down
But he never wears gloves to cover his scars
I like to think that azriel also has a lot of ticks involving his hands
Even though his hands are the source of a lot of his trauma somehow he finds comfort in his scars when he’s upset
Like whenever he is nervous or in a tense situation his whole body could be the complete picture of relaxed or uncaring as the famed Shadow Singer but his hands may give him away
Such as his fingertips running along the other hands raised scars or fingernails picking at the skin slightly
Only the most observant of eyes would even pick up on those ticks but when it’s noticed it’ll become blantaly obvious that whenever Azriel is uncomfortable he immediately starts to figet with his hands and fingers
I also always picture his shadows swirling around his hands a lot as a form of comfort or defense mechanism
If Azriel ever has nightmares or remembers a bad memory his shadows will relax him but cradling his hands and body, swirling around his fingers in a repetitive, soothing manner
I don’t think cassian or rhys ever touch his hands even if azriel has never said not to touch them
In the beginning they obviously didn’t touch his hands due to the scars/trauma being fresh but then after the years never started to touch them to avoid azriel being uncomfortable
But now azriel has no skin to skin contact with anyone and doesn’t even realize how touch starved he is
The first time feyre grabbed his hand with her own his whole body stiffened up until he realized how nice it felt
It was that event that solidified just how dear of a friend feyre was to him
After the years when he has really gotten comfortable with his scars and hands, azriel will start to wear rings, dark and big rings that draw attention to his hands in a really good way
Soon it becomes a tradition around the inner circle to gift azriel rings on holidays, he always smiles and immediately switches them with the old ones
