He always liked being the first person his therapist saw. Nick wasn’t sure why, maybe it was because it made him feel better in some way but he was always there bright and early. It only lasted an hour but sometimes Nick wished he would pay more for it to last longer. It was nice to finally have someone to talk to. He had Iz to talk to, but they would always end up arguing which lead him to here. Taking a deep breath the moment he heard her voice, Nick swallowed hard and felt fresh water fill his eyes. “No don’t–” He tried telling her not to apologize but Nick couldn’t talk. He couldn’t finish. It’s impossible for someone to keep getting more perfect but here she was, perfect as ever. “Iz.” Was all he could say again, and just looked at her. His eyes slowly moving up and down. She still looked so good. He noticed that she tried to speak, but Nick shook his head. He closed his eyes for a moment and than swallowed hard. “We.. we always said we wanted to move here when she was five. Just didn’t think we would be living here separately.” Nick said as quietly as possibly, and held his hands together. This was killing him. Violet looked just like her. He never really noticed until now. “You look good Iz…” He said quietly again, and then cleared his throat “What are you uh.. what are you doing here?” He questioned, and motioned to the sign that says Dr.Wagner. “You don’t.. you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want too. I’ll.. I’ll go. I was headed out anyway. Building a house today so I need some coffee.” Nick looked at her one more time “I never.. I never noticed how much she looked like you until now.” Nick said all choked up, he cleared his throat and shook his head.
After the divorce finalized, Isabella was sure that she wasn’t going to see Nicholas for the longest time, years. Now seeing him standing right in front of her and looking as sexy and fine as ever, she couldn’t form a single sentence in her head as her eyes were locked on his. Her heart skipped a beat when he called her Iz. It always did. Chewing on her lower lip, she took another deep breath before replying to his words about them planning to move here when Violet was five years old. “I didn’t think we would be living here separately either,” she whispered, hating the heartbreak that they shared for each other all on top of losing their baby girl of Leukemia. A soft blush crept upon her cheeks as he told her that she looked good before clearing her throat and responded with a quick, “thank you.” Fuck...now that she had seen him and had been talking to him for a little bit, he was never going to leave her head today and maybe that wasn’t the worst thing. “I also see Dr. Wagner,” she answered pretty quickly as well. Usually Isabella was a chatterbox and while she loved talking in any emotion she was going through, it was crazy not to get many words out right now seeing Nick standing in front of her. When he told her that he never realized how much Violet would’ve looked like her, her breath got stuck in her throat and she just looked at him. Fuck...she hated this. “I miss her too,” she said softly, glancing at Dr. Wagner’s office. “I should probably get going in anyways..”
