Questions to ask
theveep:
Eli had promised Matthew a croissant filled breakfast if he cleaned his room. And of course the kid delivered so here he was, standing in line and ready to order some croissants for him and his son. “Depends what you like. I don’t wanna give a suggestion and have you hate it.” He knew people had different likes, different tastebuds and all that. “My kid loves the croissants but hey, I know that the bagels are really good too.”
“Oh, I love suggestions.” She answered, serious. She had just recently tried the fruit-filled croissants, which were simply heavenly. Because the person in line suggested it, she was going to likely decide on one of those today as it sounded delicious. “You know, they make fruit-filled croissants? They are absolutely divine, way better than a normal croissant. Have you tried them yourself?”
aracelyfms:
Oh God, I mean was it possible for anyone to sound anymore like a total cliche? Aracely was just about cursing herself for deciding last minute to stop at the bakery on her way to work. The White Lily Cafe had baked goods too. Sure, they weren’t as good here, but she’d almost take the subpar cake slice over risking a cavity just waiting in line. The saccharine tone felt as if it was oozing out of the walls of the place, everyone far too peppy at this hour of the day for her liking. Of course, she was impulsive and wild in her own way, but anyone close to Aracely knew there was nothing sweet about her nature. “Feels like that’s more of an inside-your-head kinda thought.” she remarked dryly.
Isabelle hadn’t even noticed that she spoke the words aloud--rather than think them to herself--until someone standing in line next to her pointed it out. For a brief moment, she was embarrassed, but she reminded herself that it was early in the morning. The line was long and people were starting to get annoyed, taking it out on the people around them. “Wow, you’re so right. I truly believed that I said that to myself, but I guess I was loud enough for you to hear.” she answered in return.
winnieosman:
“Nobody asked for a commentary, you know,” Winnie pointed out with a roll of her eyes. She knew she shouldn’t be so mean to this woman. After all, they hardly knew each other, but she was cranky, in need of both more sleep and coffee while the other brunette was acting like she was in some kind of Disney movie, with all the little birdies ready to tend to her. “Haven’t you ever tried desserts before? How would anyone actually know what you would want to get?” She added, letting out an exaggerated sigh. “You know, it’s relatively easy. Just… Oh, I don’t know, choose one. Literally any of them. Do I need to ask you what your favorite is too to remind you?”
When someone in line began to share their annoyance with the situation, Isabelle simply waited for them to get it all out. It was obvious to her that they were in a cranky mood, so she didn’t let it bother her. “Wow, you really need some coffee, huh? Well I think you picked the wrong place, because there’s a huge line full of people ready to talk about their orders. If that small and perfectly normal conversation is too much for you, then I think you might want to find somewhere else that has a smaller line to get that caffeine kick.”

Willa had thought it would be a nice gesture to offer to grab coffee for Annabeth and the rest of the team while they were out, though it seemed less and less possible as the line in front of them stopped and started every few minutes. Willa looked down at their watch every few seconds, willing time to move backwards so they wouldn’t get an angry call in a few minutes wondering where the hell they are. As the woman in front of them began to speak, her words caught Willa by surprise, under the impression that she had been asking them intentionally, “Well, usually people just stick with exactly what they know they like?’ Willa responded quickly, as if this were the obvious answer. Why would you stray from the answer staring you right in the face? “You won’t be getting anything if the line doesn’t start moving…”
Isabelle turned towards the person standing of her, thinking about what was said. She could tell that they seemed to be in a state, most likely anxious about how long the line was. She had considered allowing them to go ahead of her, but seeing as how many people were in front of them, that wouldn’t do much good. “Oh, I can’t imagine getting the same thing every time.” She answered, honest. “I like to pick something different each time I come here, as a way to keep myself on my toes. You’d be surprised on how many things seem like they aren’t good but turn out to be delicious!”

Isabelle found herself at the bakery frequently, as her love for sweets and bread knew no bounds. Despite the fact that the bakery seemed to have every person in town with the same idea as her, Isabelle approached the scene with delight. She stood just outside of the shop, taking her place in line as she smelled the air around her. It was filled with the scent of freshly baked goods and brewed coffee, which made her stomach growl in hunger.
“Ooh, it all smells delicious.” she mused to herself, paying no attention to anyone who could overhear her. “How am I ever going to choose what to get?”
