“It’s me!” Winnie called out as she used her key to get into her neighbor’s house, smirking as she put the key back in her purse. She knew it was late, but she had some food delivered to her place because she was in need of a midnight snack, only to realize that she didn’t want to eat all of it alone because the mere idea made her oddly sad. “Don’t bother pretending you’re already asleep. I literally just saw you naked through my window,” Winnie added with a smirk, letting out a laugh as she placed the gloriously unhealthy food on the table. “I got fries,” she called out in a sing-song voice.

“And then the guy was just... He played so dirty. The guy was already on the ground, knocked out as all hell, and yet he was just yelling at him to get up, because he was ready for another round. Not to mention the fact that he totally hit the other guy when the other guy’s back was turned. I’ve seen crazy up in that ring, but that had to be the craziest so far this year,” Winnie shared with a shake of her head. She usually wasn’t so talkative, but she was with her best friend in the entire world and if she was to be sleep-deprived from what happened the previous night, she might as well explain why. “He went on for another three more matches and he won every single one. Can you believe that?” Winnie asked with a shake of her head as she checked out the shirts. “So that’s how my night went. Nothing too fancy. Now, what have you been up to?”

Isabelle found herself at the bakery frequently, as her love for sweets and bread knew no bounds. Despite the fact that the bakery seemed to have every person in town with the same idea as her, Isabelle approached the scene with delight. She stood just outside of the shop, taking her place in line as she smelled the air around her. It was filled with the scent of freshly baked goods and brewed coffee, which made her stomach growl in hunger.

“Ooh, it all smells delicious.” she mused to herself, paying no attention to anyone who could overhear her. “How am I ever going to choose what to get?”

“Nobody asked for a commentary, you know,” Winnie pointed out with a roll of her eyes. She knew she shouldn’t be so mean to this woman. After all, they hardly knew each other, but she was cranky, in need of both more sleep and coffee while the other brunette was acting like she was in some kind of Disney movie, with all the little birdies ready to tend to her. “Haven’t you ever tried desserts before? How would anyone actually know what you would want to get?” She added, letting out an exaggerated sigh. “You know, it’s relatively easy. Just... Oh, I don’t know, choose one. Literally any of them. Do I need to ask you what your favorite is too to remind you?”

winnie had a pretty good life at the start. it was just her and her dad, but it all went to shit once he started dating, and eventually married some chick who did not like winnie at all. though winnie tried her best to give this woman a chance because she wanted to see her dad happy 

however, when he died, her stepmother took out her grief on her

fed up with being used as a punching bag, she ran away from home with some of the money her dad left for her and literally never looked back 

everton is the only thing she cares about now, and she got back on her feet because she befriended abel, a pretty wealthy and successful man and the two of them ended up becoming really good friends

she’s incredibly grateful for this second chance, and she’s so so so happy to be able to say she made (mostly) honest money all by herself 

she’s a bitch. like hands down a bitch. that’s mostly because that’s her defense mechanism against people, since she still hasn’t dealt with the trauma of losing her dad and the trauma of being hit constantly and made feel worthless

For most of her life, Winnie lived happily, with a father who loved her unconditionally. Her own mother died giving birth to her so she never had a mother figure in her life, up until her father started dating again. While Winnie and his girlfriend didn’t get along, they tried to to make peace to make her dad happy.

That peace didn’t last that long because when her father suddenly and unexpectedly died of a heart attack, she was left with someone who was supposed to be a “mother” to her, but only ended up taking out her grief and frustration on Winnie herself.

Fed up with being used as a punching bag, she ran away from home with some of the money that her father left her, and found herself in Everton for a brand new start, a chance to be someone other than the girl with the bruises and the girl whose father just died. That was seven years ago and as far as Winnie is concerned, Everton is her entire life now.

PERSONALITY:

Winnie is incredibly reserved. Because she had to deal with her mother-in-law’s grief, she never really delved into her emotions, which was fine by her since she liked to press them down until she could pretend to forget about them. She doesn’t like talking about herself or her past at all and if she does have to, she constantly becomes defensive and annoyed at whoever asked.

If someone from her past would come and see her now, they’d see a completely different person. Winnie’s no longer the happy-go-lucky person she used to be, but is now very cynical and mean if she has to be. There’s a big part of her that feels very bitter about how she was treated, and how her life ended up this way, and sometimes that portrays her as a really callous person, but it’s also one way for her to protect herself, not letting herself be as close to people as she used to be.

She’s resilient because she knows that this is her second chance at a good life, and she wants to make sure she doesn’t disappoint anybody, especially those who have helped her. She takes her job very seriously, and she will not let anybody mess with this second chance she feels very blessed to have.

CONNECTIONS:

ABEL DENMAN - Older brother figure. When she came to Everton, she was lonely, clueless and scared out of her mind. When he offered her some help, she took it and after years, there’s undeniable mutual trust there now.

PAXTON O’SULLIVAN - Toxic relationship. The two of them never know for sure if they’re on or off since they break up and then make up so often. People close to both of them have said that they should just give it a rest, but they always seem to come back to each other.

ALANA TORLAK - Ride or die. Their friendship was an unexpected one, but as soon as the two met, it was like instant fireworks. She proved that there was such a thing as a friend soulmate because the two are thick as thieves now. Despite the fact that both of them have their own secrets, they will always have the other’s back.
