Assuming that Doomsday/Secret Wars ends with the destruction of the First Steps and Fox X-Men universes, as well as the surviving non-MCU heroes migrating into the MCU, Fantastic Four 2 has a really interesting premise to build on.

The First Steps universe was deliberately presented as this utopia where the F4 made things so safe and secured that countries who joined the Future Foundation disbanded their militaries. The universe is so squeaky clean that there’s literally a scene where it’s just people praising the Fantastic Four and being all wholesome.

Now imagine THAT team trying to be superheroes in the MCU, which is roughly based on our world -

1) Guys like the Punisher actually has people following his lead

2) The world turned against superheroes because of the damage their battles kept on accumulating (Sokovian Accords)

3) The Avengers saved the world multiple times and still get a ton of flack, like when the Sokovian crowd were protesting the Avengers’ appearance in Sokovia

4) Clint Barton noticed that someone wrote “Thanos was right” in the bathroom

5) SHIELD in general

6) The New Avengers consists of - a former assassin, a Soviet Russia propaganda machine who is mainly in it for the clout, the guy who literally trapped the people of NYC in their own shame, the disgraced Captain America who was caught on camera killing someone who already surrendered, a former Ant-Man and Wasp villain, and HYDRA’s former #1 weapon

7) People of NYC actually voted in a known criminal as their mayor

And keep in mind, that’s just the MCU. This isn’t even considering the fact that these squeaky clean 1950s/1960s utopian superheroes have to deal with the modern day. Everyone hates each other, political divisions everywhere, good guys do bad things and vice versa. Can you imagine Susan Storm trying to get the governments of OUR world to disband their armies? The UN would laugh her out of the building.

But the thing is, that would make for such an interesting premise to the sequel to First Steps.
