Culinarians may see fermented butter as no more than an ingredient for a variety of dishes. Yet knights in backwater locales often use it to shave with knives—an alternative to the expensive creams of the capital. Fermented butter has a rich scent and salve-like texture, making it ideal for this purpose. A shipment has been requested by our forces stationed in the Dravanian forelands, to which I would consult your service.

To Kill a Dragon on Nameday

The young son of a House Haillenarte nobleman has requested a special present for his nameday: dragonfly hatchlings wrapped in sticky crawler silk nets that the children can take turns having at the creatures with wooden staves. So as long as it encourages the childrens' hatred towards our foe and possible recruitment into our order later in life, I see no reason why I cannot pay you a cofferful of coin to meet his demand.

Tomes Roam on the Range

It is of paramount importance that we protect our people from corruptive foreign influences and indulgences. Yet every now and then, our scholars have need of the unconventional. As interpreters of the Enchiridion's word, they are permitted to request these tomes from other lands. I would rather sate their curiosity for the aberrant without encouraging them to venture beyond our borders, and thus ask you to create such that will not provoke such curiosity.

Man With a Dragon Earring

I have oft heard that while the artisans of House Dzemael are richly rewarded and are verily masters of their crafts, some feel their deeds are not adequately appreciated by the people of Ishgard due to the absence of shimmering armor and displays of heroism. While it is true that their contributions are made in places far quieter than fields of battle, they are every bit as important to the Holy See as those of the knights. Mayhap earrings fashioned from slain dragons will inspire them to continue their work as warriors of the saw, quarry, and hammer.

No Margarine of Error

The infantrymen are accustomed to braving the elements and finding themselves yalm-deep in mud, sand, and dragon corpses. Yet you would be surprised what improved hygiene does for the morale of the troops, as even those who march to their deaths would prefer to greet Halone with their beards in some form of upkeep. Hence I ask for a large quantity of fermented butter not for culinary purpose, but for the men stationed in Cloudtop where scarce water cannot be used for a clean shave. It may not be the finest of lathers from inside the capital, but Halone has always taught us to be humble in our appearance and over-indulgent in our combat.

Persona non Gratin

I have been informed that House Haillenarte has agreed to have its contingents partake in joint training exercises with House Dzemael, and my hope is fixed that the supper that follows will allow for more amity among the two Houses. Finding a dish that would dull sharp tongues has proven difficult, but I am confident dhalmel gratin would suffice, with thick consistency of the Dzemael variety and game familiar to Rose Knights.

The Clothes Off Her Back

I have received a missive in testimony of a chirurgeon who was the sole survivor of an attack on a patrol in the mountains, saved from her congregation with Halone for reasons only She is aware. The healer knew they would not be found, and her fallen comrades could not walk in Her halls without the proper arrangements, so in solemn duty, she proceeded to slice pieces of fabric with which to wrap around their heads, covering the eyes. She continued her task until she was discovered almost naked by a wandering karakul herdsman. With her recovery and her comrades given a proper funeral, I beseech you to make her a beautiful sash cut from the best cloth so that all will know of her bravery.

A Halonic Masquerade

If you do not cut off the disease at the source, it will continue to spread and manipulate the other parts of the body. We have known for quite a while about Lady Iceheart's treacherous group of knaves, yet it would seem that one faction has splintered off into their own ideology, calling themselves "peacemakers," yet wearing masks to conceal their identities. The heretics love to use honeyed words to reach the ears of the optimists, so there is need to eliminate the "peace" at any cost through their own devices. I want you to forge a proper scouting mask for me, and tell not a soul if you value your tongue.

A Skypirate’s Life for Me

Following a tragic airship ambush by wyverns, a comradery of Ishgardian merchants have decided enough is enough, and rally behind an enraged widow to form a wandering brigade of armed escorts eager to dock any ship to splatter the decks with wyvern gore. The temple knights welcome any man or woman that holds such hatred against the foe to take to arms of their own accord, so I would ask you make them bows with tightened strings that sing as the curs fall from the heavens.

The Calamity has placed a chill in the ground, and those who spend their days on their feet are much affected. The days of leather and cloth are gone for workers in the cellar and keepers of well-shaded stores. From now on, we must all make our way on stout soles of wood.

Steeling the Knight, Steeling the Mind

The chirurgeons of the battlefield are equipped with the best tools Ishgard can provide, but these instruments can only be used a certain number of times before they become prone to contamination. The specialists who forge their medical utensils oft imbue them with magical properties that keep the chirurgeons' minds sharp and focused on the task of healing the wounded, and they request bottles of dissolvent of weak quality for the replenishing of supplies.
