Let’s stop thinking that God’s goodness changes because things don’t go our way.

Let’s stop thinking that His faithfulness depends on whether we get what we want or not.

Let’s stop acting like we deserve anything from Him.

Let’s stop treating God like a genie and then acting like spoiled brats when our wishes don’t come true.

Let’s remember that God is good even when our circumstances are not. He is faithful. & He is good. Always.

I want to talk to you about the beauty of the stars but I also want to talk to you about the disgusting mentality behind certain societal norms. 3. I want to see how consistent your actions are with your words. I don’t want to fall for love letters or poems, for sweet Instagram captions or long birthday texts, I want to fall in love with you showing up on time and keeping your promises. 4. I want to take it slow. I want our story to work out in years, not months. I want to respect time and space this time. 5. I want to make sure I am not seeking love from you for the lack of love I have for myself. I want to make sure you aren’t a void I am filling in, you are not an alternative to the things I can’t give myself. I want to make sure you are not doing the same. 6. I want to work out with my insecurities and fears from the past. I don’t want to project them on you, I don’t want to subject you to the doubts, suspicion and anger I carry from the people I have known in the past. 7. Before I fall in love again, I want to make a mattress with you. Of understanding and respect and trust. So when we fall, it doesn’t hurt.

Whether it’s selling our belongings to give to the poor, initiating a conversation about Jesus with a co-worker, or simply choosing joy in a season of trial—living by faith is risky. . The difference we have as Christians though—is the assurance that God’s faithfulness is rock solid. When we take prayerful risks in alignment with God’s Word, we can be confident that God will work it out for our good. . It may not turn out the way we hope, and we may suffer, but we have confidence that God will use our obedience for His glory and our good. . Faith is risky, but solid. It’s a bit of a paradox, but if we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that He is with us.. every risk for His name will be worth it. . Let us not be like the servant who took no risks because of fear (Matthew 25:14-30). But let us multiply what God has given us by taking faith-filled risks for His glory. Let us live by faith, and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). And may God give us the wisdom, to always know the difference. . . . My thoughts aren’t always holy. My actions aren’t always loving. I fail. I slip. I’m a mess on so many days. I don’t have it all together, but I live and breathe God’s Grace every moment of every day, and THAT is what pulls me through. I am committed to being more like Jesus, and I pray God gives me the strength to continue dying to myself daily and picking up His Cross. I cannot do this alone. I cannot live a holy and righteous life without Him. God, I pray my heart clings to You tighter than anything else in this world!
