[Managing a smile, she leans over, returning Isla’s hug.] Thanks. [Pulling back, she looks up into her friend’s eyes.] How are you doing, Isla?
I'll mix you something up, bring it by the flower shop later. It's not a problem, I look out for my girls.
[Her own eyes avert from Cordelia's, cast for a moment to the ground as her lips press into a thin line.] I'm fine, Cor. I'm still here, still kickin'. Don't you worry 'bout me, okay?
Its a mood my own muse is quite familiar with actually. I’m flattered love, is there anything I can do to show you my appreciation for the ego boost?
I could think of a few things, but I prefer to leave a lovely lady to her own devices. Much more fun knowin' everything was their own idea, y'know?

True. But what’s the fun in manipulating someone who cannot keep up with you? Let’s not even talk about the possibility of a relationship, I firmly believe there shouldn’t be one lesser when it comes to romance.
Trust is a delicate topic, I can’t say that I know how to elicit it.
Captivating, occasionally a fitting word for it.
Y'ever held a magnifying glass up and burnt the limbs off ants with it? It's more like that, really, but with a world more possibilities. Maybe it's not romantic, but it's entertaining to mess with 'em and watch 'em squirm.
Trust is a lotta things, doll, but mostly it's a really useful tool. I've spent quite a lot of time learnin' how to build it, since y'know, most people I run into knowin' who I am tend to be all but petrified at first.
Questionable Acts // Sawyer & Amp & Isla
"…Two- Two days?" Glancing between the two, Sawyer nodded firmly. If she was going to do this job, then she had to be flexible. A thousand different things collided with each other as her mind raced to keep up with what lies she would have to tell, and to what people? What would she tell her parents? Nyx? The Mystic? Biting down on her lip to keep from asking Amp those questions, Sawyer simply nodded. Avoiding letting her gaze trail down to his non-human legs, Sawyer stared him squarely in the eye. “You can count on me.” Wow, that sounded really fucking lame.
Looking over to Isla, Sawyer smiled weakly. This was a lot to take in, and the fact that she was being pushed out towards her job within two days, that was.. a lot to handle. She could do it though. She had to. If she didn’t, she was sure Amp would string her insides or something gross like that.
"Never officially? Uh, no." They hadn’t. It had been about her mother. Sawyer made a hundred different mental notes not to bring her up. Shit, this was tough. Watching as Amp sauntered away, or what she assumed was sauntering, Sawyer found her attention being drawn back to the woman standing next to her. "What do I do with myself? Uh, nothing." Sawyer let out a small laugh before taking another sip of her drink. "I mean, nothing exciting.. not like this." Sawyer motioned around at the room before letting her hand rest against her opposite forearm. Was this how adults had conversation? Professional conversation? "I work at The Mystic, I’m a barista. I kinda fix things, like engines and stuff? But aside from that, nothing.."
"Two days," Amp reiterated with a wink. "You should be able to drop whatever it is that you’ve got going on in ‘Sawyer Land’ by then with how much I’m paying you."
Doing his best to avoid playing the third wheel to two ravenous lesbians, he strolled off to a table of fey-folk that had begun cackling like a group of hens the moment Isla stepped through the door; and of course, did his best to provoke the gossip further.
Isla heaved a sigh at Amp's unique charms as he departed from the two of them, sipping her drink with a bit more abandon than usual. "Don't worry about him, sweetheart. I'd say his bark is worse than his bite, but he actually bit me once and it wasn't pleasant." She gave a laugh to lighten the mood, then took Sawyer by the shoulder to move her over to a less inhabited part of the exclusive bar.
"Oh yeah, that's right, you're a coffee slinger, huh?" she chuckled, recalling having seen the woman at the town cafe before. "I'm sure we've had a couple fleeting conversations. Apologies if I haven't been the most pleasant customer. I've had...some upsets, of late. I'd rather not weigh the conversation down, in any case." She took a seat on a cozy white love seat in an isolated corner and gestured for Sawyer to take the seat right next to her, fairly close quarters.
Once she inevitably did as she was told, Isla took a moment to look the girl over, assessing gods only knew what as her sharp ocean-colored eyes flitted from one feature to another. "You fix engines, too? Well, how about that," she noted, her tone mildly impressed. "Good with your hands, Ms. Woods? Don't mind gettin' a little dirty? No wonder my caprine companion fancies havin' you around." A slow, mischievous grin curved her crimson-stained lips as she brought her gin and tonic back to them for another sip.
Me? I’m fine. Just a bit tired, that’s all.
I … I think I need a hug.
Not sleepin' well? You know I got a few things can fix that, honey. Just say the word.
A hug I can manage for my favorite little halfie. [She steps over and slides her arms around Cordelia, pulling her in tight.]

My muse is telling me that you are not a woman to be trifled with, its telling me to paint you in shades of gold and in position of power. Seductive is another word that comes to mind.
See, now I just feel silly, 'cause my muse was just tellin' me that you're really hot. Guess she's just in one of those moods, hm?
Are the talents you’re referring to purely human or more of the ditch ‘em and drown ‘em variety?
Any woman worth her salt should possess wit, beauty fades after all and I’ve yet to meet one beautiful but foolish woman who met success and was able to hold onto it.

A bit of both, I'd say, though my more exotic skills extend quite a bit beyond your average drowning.
Ah, but at least the pretty ones are nice to look at, even if they are empty-headed. Not to mention it's quite a bit easier to get an airhead to mind me, not that it's not boring to do.

Oh, I'm sure you'll only get me riled in all the right ways, a pretty young thing like yourself. I understand the sentiment, though, wanting to go out. I need to go places sometimes to keep myself together, out on the town, out to the sea...I'm a creature of instinct, and I get sorely bothered if I don't obey them. Loneliness? Can't say I've dealt with much of that, but then, on the rare occasion when I am alone, I like to savor my solitude. Y'gotta learn to enjoy your own company, right?

I don’t doubt it. You’re certainly beautiful enough that a world of fun was certainly offered to you on a silver platter, the second you came of age. Your journalistic work, of course.
As far as stories go, it’s certainly not scandalous but I do prefer a slightly dull truth than an extravagant lie.
Those other talents usually involve pain and intimidation, so I try not to go for them right away, fun as they may be to exercise.
Beauty, I suppose, is a part of my natural gifts, but I was given a few that far exceed appearance in utility. A sharp mind, for example, which has been a great help in my journalistic career.
I have some pretty extravagant truths as well, but not just anybody's privy to those.
