Once you’re accepted (by completing your profile and shipper), the next step is to post an introduction! After you post it, your character will receive their membergroup colors.
What you write should be around 150 words at minimum ( the text seen on both templates is 140 words ). You can always write more. Be creative with it if you’d like. Just offer some explanation of who your character is, perhaps exploring: what they do, what they’re about, how they behave, how they fit in, how interact with others on the island or in their storyline. A synopsis, if anything, that'll be useful for people who'd like a quick way to view characters for potential plots.
So, the opening will be pushed back a day! I (ileo) have to deal with some fam issues that would make it hard to be entirely present today. Apologies for the extended wait. If you could bear with this, I’d be forever grateful!
To keep you occupied, you’ll soon get the preview and code for your character introduction (their synopsis) with the information about how it works. This’ll give you a head start because it’s required after your character has been accepted. The shipper options will follow.

The app process is based on the combined completion of a character’s profile + shipper. Both are straightforward, the shipper options are quite simple and include the categories of: platonic, antagonistic, romantic. For some, you have the option of not including a character synopsis if you would instead prefer to use it as an introduction.
Once you’re accepted, you’ll have to post an introduction of your character into their membergroup thread, then you’ll get your membergroup color.
App feature: Choose your own background! (The screenshot chopped it up, so it’ll look better on the site) – There are a few selections available. Go with whichever one you like! Whether you want it to match your character’s mood or if you prefer one that looks best with your character’s profile image, you have options.

ABOUT THE FREEFORM SECTION
It’s freestyle with no word count. Go into whatever you think helps us get a good sense of your character. If you want, you can write about their history, personality, or just their physical appearance. Write whatever suits them!
Some other ideas: Write a few vignettes, do POVs based on how their family views them, write about the last few places they’ve been, write a first-person account from their ex(es), imagine if they were being interviewed, explore how they start their day, explore what they're like when they go out, write in the style of journal entries, etc. Be creative and have fun with it.
The freeform style is HTML and CSS-enabled. So you can change the font colors, sizes, and style. There is no need to use <*br> <*p> because the form naturally reflects the spacing you’ve used. Know that using code styling isn’t required, it’s up to you!
For those of you a bit unfamiliar with HTML and CSS, here is a quick guide. As well, you’re always welcome to ask a staff member for help!
Based on your choice, when you hover an image or gif will show. As seen above, it doesn’t have to be an image of your character, it can be an aesthetic image as well. It’s up to you! It doesn’t gray out automatically, we’ve all just chosen gray avs and miniprofile images.
On the image you’ll see your character’s occupation + where they work.
Below, it’ll show your character’s nickname + membergroup. And the aesthetics that you’d like associated with them.
In lieu of flooding you with all the information, here are the ones you may be most interested in. As well, you’ll find the opening date.
OPENING DATE
The opening date has been pushed back one day to allow us a little more time to get things together. So now we’ll be opening Saturday, June 1st 12pm PST/3pm EST.
You’ll get a preview of both the miniprofile and the profile soon so you can see what areas you’ll be filling out for those.
Other than that, the variety of POC faces makes us so happy! You’re all wonderful and we can’t wait to see what you do with your characters.
THE GOLDEN RULE
it’s simple. don’t be mean, rude, racist, sexist, etc. basically, don’t bully other people, don’t start fights just cause they fill a lil void in you ( :/ ), and don’t intentionally hurt or mistreat other people.

CHARACTERS
one of your first two characters must be part of a storyline. afterward, you may make new ones outside of them. though it is highly encouraged that you continue to do so, you don't have to place more than one character within a storyline.
register in lowercase using just the first and last name.
your first three characters are free for you to make. if you'd like to make a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, etc. all of your current characters will need one active ic thread post that's been posted within the last 7 days.
no repeat first or last names, please. for whatever reason, if you would like a name that’s already been registered, make sure to work it out with the person who registered the name first. however, variations of the same name are fine.
( ex: ann, anna, anne / joe, joey, joseph, josef )
FACE CLAIMS
for the opening, we’ll allow those who reserved through this tumblr to keep your face reserves for five days. otherwise face reservations last 3 days, extensions are possible. you may reserve two faces at a time.
a character's age must be +/- 5 years of the age of their face. we ask that our in-character ages be 18+.
