Please Help Me Get A Disability Support Dog!
Hi all!
I’m a 20yo kiwi genderfluid terminal person with several disabilities, including a major heart condition that means I can’t work or do most things, but I’m hoping to start volunteering when I can!
But to do this I need a support dog, along with being disabled I also have severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD, so, in all honesty, lifes pretty tough, especially with the NZ medical system failing me all the time. With my condition the expected lifespan is 35-40 years, so I’ve only got another 15-20 years to go - and I want to use them for something good!
I want to do something with my life, help people, make a difference, even if it’s only small! But right now I can barely leave this house, before our country went into quarantine I’d already been home for three weeks, stuck because of both being immune compromised but also because of being too scared to leave.
My mental health has been getting worse over the years and so has my physical health, I’ve just had three surgeries in under a year, and am looking at more in the future - including a double transplant of both my liver and heart at the same time.
But having a dog would help! I just want to go outside and make the most of the time I have, so please donate to help me get a support dog! I really need one, I need the help, and it’s really hard for me to admit how badly I need this help.
