Maiko Umehina dancing Kurokami
Version 2
An update for the maiko mesh is here! You can still wear the v1 mesh and use the old appliers but appliers that say v2 should use the v2 mesh. The UV mapping for the top and sleeves was adjusted to better accommodate designers (particularly striped patterns). The same update for the geiko mesh will come soon.
Finishing up the last few animations for the geiko AO. Starter kimono/obi and obijime appliers sets are complete. Juban appliers are almost done. Getting closer to an official release!
Coming soon! :D
Bento mesh is here! :D Updates on all the appliers and any fixes will be pushed out as they are available. Next up, geiko, minarai and odori versions! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Jaffee/15/217/1141 https://isoldel.wixsite.com/isomesh

With regards to kimono, what motifs are considered all season or season-less?
The motifs that are considered season-less are the ones that have importance outside of the calendar. Some examples of all season motifs and their meanings include:-Cranes (Longevity and Fidelity)-Turtles (Longevity and Wisdom)-Peacocks (Piety and Protection)-Chrysanthemums (Symbol of The Emperor)-Waves (Change)-Clouds (Transition)-Pine (Strength and Endurance)-Paulownia (Symbol of The People)-Buildings/Temples (Ingenuity and Piety)-Dragons (Wisdom and Strength)-Carp/Koi (Longevity and Endurance)-Hime/Heian Nobility (Educated in Traditional Literature and Beauty)-Hawks (Intelligence and Patience)-Kusudama/Flower Balls (Protection and Femininity) -Tabane Noshi/Celebratory Papers (Celebration and Affirmation of Bonds)
Back when kitsuke started, I provided both a high res and optimised version of the appliers. The ‘high res’ versions contained larger textures, allowing for sharper details, while the others contained smaller textures that would load faster, but not be as sharp when viewed close up. Over time I abandoned that, as people seemed to prefer the larger texture sizes and it seemed silly to double my upload costs for no good reason!
However, it’s been noted that at performances it can take a while for the hikizuri designs to res to the audience. So I put it to you, dear customers, would you prefer smaller textures that load faster but look less crisp up close, or larger ones that look good at whatever camera distance. A 1024 texture takes up four times the texture memory of a 512 one.

I was wondering, how can you tell a junior maiko and a miranai apart? For me, they just look the same before and after they have their misedashi. o.o
An excellent question! In some districts it’s impossible to tell whether a girl is a minarai or a maiko as they’ll dress exactly the same. To make this easier I’ll break it down by district:Gion Kobu-Wears handara (half length darari obi)-Wears minarai kanzashi-Wears minarai hikizuri (slightly shorter sleeves and plain patterns)Pontocho-Wears handara-Wears minarai kanzashi-Wears minarai hikizuri Kamishichiken-Wears handara, will then change to full darari for the last week-Wears normal kanzashi-Wears minarai hikizuri, will then change to normal hikizuri for the last weekMiyagawa Cho-Wears handara for the first 3 days, then changes to full darari-Wears normal kanzashi-Wears minarai hikizuri for the first 3 days, then changes to normal hikizuriGion Higashi-Wears handara for up to a week, then changes to full darari-Wears normal kanzashi-Wears minarai hikizuri for up to a week, then changes to normal hikizuri
