Rainbow stairs in Cihangir / Istanbul. The neighborhood were so annoyed by the grey and dull looks of these stairs (painted by the municipality) that they decided to take action themselves and painted the stairs in rainbow colors. The next day Municipality noticed it and got angry, painted them back into grey. And then the next day municipality decided to revert the changes and painted it back to rainbow colors!!.  Well, this is Turkey :) But still we have a happy ending :)

Are you allowed to take tripods into the masques and churches?

You can take them into mosques, but not all of them. If there is a security (with x-ray machines etc) they most probably will not allow it. You can use a small tripod though, put it in your bag and they will not notice it.

I am very proud to learn that I got the 3rd place in National Geographic Türkiye photo contest with this piece I shot in Princes' Islands / Istanbul.  It's my first award and I'm amazed to the fact that it is from National Geographic!.

Let's not forget the cats of Istanbul - You can find them in any corner, in the streets, in the parks, on your car! It's such a common to see them, they're simply everywhere!

Karaköy is the new trendy district to go in Istanbul. Not so long ago, you wouldnt want to go there for any reason, but now its getting more and more popular, thanks to the new cafe and restaurants being opened. Take your time and visit Karakoy's narrow streets on a weekend!

An #interior  scene from #hagiasophia  in #istanbul  - #Turkey . This place has been a #cathedral  for 921 years and then served as a#mosque  for 481 years. You can find traces of both #religions  inside.
