Misha nodded at Jared. “That’s right. I remember her saying something about sea lions or seals or something.” He moved closer to Jensen, still eyeing Jared uncertainly. The man had rarely been in their home, let alone actually talking to them about something other than work.

He turned to Jensen, pecking the man’s cheek. “I’m going to go get changed and then I’ll make us dinner. I picked up a bottle of the whiskey you like. Pour yourself a glass if you want.”

Jared nodded and waved, slowly making his way to the door. He was gone a few seconds later, Dean catching his brother’s chuckles as he disappeared. He shot his brother’s retreating back a death glare before it fell, swallowing thickly as he turned back to the other.

His eyes went a little wide, but he nodded, unsure what to do otherwise. “Okay.” He flashed a little smile, hoping it betrayed how “tired”he was. This was extremely awkward, but it wasn’t the worst situation he’d been in. Actually,it was kind of nice...

Morning Light

“Sleep is” A velvet-coated voice whispered into the hunter’s ear. An amused smile tugged at the ends of the intruder’s lips, head tilted slighted to the right. “Hello Dean” The fallen greeted, a chair materializing beside the bed as he took a seat. He wasn’t sure if the other would recognize him immediately because hell, even he was adjusting, very comfortably of course, to his new, well old actually but attractive, form,”You’ve been healing up nicely from our little session weeks ago. And no, this isn’t a new vessel. It’s my true form although very much dimmed to a more humane level to avoid any episode of anyone’s eyes being scorched, details, details”.

The angel would hardly admit it but the little fight between him and the Winchester changed something. His thoughts were odd. He would’ve used feelings but the devil doesn’t have a heart, right? Maybe, just maybe, he can find someone, ironically the vessel meant to contain the one who could destroy him, who not just know him but knows him. Except, he knows to expect resistance at the start but he will get what he wants; After all, he had since the beginning of time to hone his temptation skills.

“I can assure you, you would make about roughly, say, 0 percent progress about anything and everything if you do not sleep” Lucifer drawled, eyeing the other from head to toe, snapping so that the file that contained newspaper clippings appeared in his hands, flipping through it,”Wanna share what’s the delay? It’s unlike you monkeys to resist sleep”. The angel’s lips quirked upwards, his voice somewhat fond in a you-caught-my-attention-more-than-an-average-human-did sort of way,”But then again, you have always been an interesting one”.

Dean jumped up, nearly rolling off the other side of the bed at the sudden strange voice. He pulled the gun he had hidden under the pillow free and aimed it right at the source of the sound. His eyes were wide, and the gun stayed where it was for the time being. His grip tightened before he tilted his head. “.... Not, not really. I still have a hard time breathing, thanks. Why the Hell are you here?” he muttered, the gun dropping but still staying in hand.

This was... weird. Like, really weird. First off, Lucifer had a new vessel. Second, he was in the Bunker. Third, he didn’t seem angry. He actually seemed fairly calm, or at least on the outside. That worried him, but he wasn’t about to prod the Devil again, not after the last time.He knew better than that right now. And frankly, he had gotten a little lucky. Maybe Satan himself had a few ideas to use against the Darkness.

“Have you met me? Half the cases we do is on less than a few hours of sleep. It’s not a first. Besides, why the Hell would you care? Seeing you actually caring is a tad bit creepy.” Dean’s eyes narrowed as the angel flipped through the folder, nostrils flaring out in irritation. “ The way he seemed, his tone, it was... unnerving. “So, why are you here?”

Dean, as per usual, couldn’t sleep, instead sitting in his bed, blankets draped over his legs. He rested against the small headboard and sighed, fingers rubbing his eyes as he thumbed the next song to play before setting the phone aside and letting it play beside him. He started leafing through the all too familiar faces and memories, smiling and waving at the camera as he turned page after page. His eyes stopped on one, fingers trailing over it before snapping the book shut.

He’d had enough heartache for the night. He kicked the blankets off and sat the book back in its place in his desk drawer. He stood at the desk for a few moments, shifting through a few of the clippings he’d snagged from newspapers here and there. He scooped them up and dropped them into a folder for later, stretching with a yawn before he fell back onto the bed. His arms went behind his head, staring at the ceiling as his mind flashed back to weeks before, the fight with Ca- Lucifer, his chest still aching a little from the still healing bruises. His hand massaged over the weary muscles, sighing softly as he shook his head.

“What next...? We’ve got nothing on Amara, no cases... I’m going insane in here,” he mumbled to himself, arm draping over his face.

So, in my spirituality class, we made a class prayer flag (the top 3 flags) were my contribution. Now I understand why the campus things I’m weird (and probably a Satanist).

We also got to take home little mini ones to do on our own, and I of course had to do Supernatural. I’m not a drawer or artist by any means, but it’s cute. It’s something I really wanted to do, and I’m happy I have another little touch for my room to remind me it’s okay to have bad days, because we all know the Winchesters do. But, they keep fighting, and so will I.

// Hey, so I’ll be online on and off the next two days or so. My poster for my big Capstone/Senior project is due today/tomorrow, so I won’t be around a whole lot until that’s done. I’ll be on to check for certain threads, but it may still take me a little bit to respond. I still have quite a bit to do for it, but I’m confident I can get it done either tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Once that’s done and out of the way, I will spend some time this weekend catching up on threads from March. It will happen, even if I have to force myself awake with a shit ton of caffeine.

Rage ||

“Why don’t you fight back” The fallen angel mocked, advancing on him,”Such a pity to let that pretty face get bruised”. Lucifer knew that there was no way to hurt him without hurting Castiel, maybe that’s why the older Winchester was so reluctant.

“Maybe I have some issues but at least I don’t have a brother who went sneaking off with a demon behind my back, who kick-started the apocalypse, freeing yours truly from the cage. Then there’s the other sibling who freed this darkness mess, who turned into a demon and tried to kill his brother, even teamed up with a weakling of an opposition” He grinned ferally, snapping,”What a perfect family!”.

“Who do you think you are!” Lucifer roared with every new hit, grabbing the other’s shirt, lifting him up roughly with a hand, letting him dangle while all hell broke loose,”Trying to be the righteous man! Respected by all! You may have thrown me into the cage, stopped my plans and reigns before but I assure you, this is a war you won’t win!”. The fallen pinned the other against the wall, gazing into his eyes with a strong intensity radiating off him in waves. He was filled with pure angst but if he would take the time to reflect, the angel might just find a tinge of unresolved sadness from eons and eons of pent-up feelings. “You can’t win, no, fate’s just being a little bitch. You’re just a hairless ape in my way” Lucifer muttered, more so as if to reassure himself than stating it as a fact.

Dean rested against the wall, arm around his waist as he tried to breathe. He knew more than likely he’d be bruised for quite some time, his entire torso aching painfully already. But, the angel had a point. He didn’t fight back. He couldn’t, not if it would put Cas at risk. But, he just wished there was a way to get through to him…

The hunter looked up at him from where he was hunched over, licking his split lip and giving a little sigh. They weren’t perfect. Both he and Sam had done some pretty awful things in their lifetimes, but no matter what happened, they stuck it out. They were brothers, and by this point, nothing could really change that, not even the Devil himself.

He gave a little grunt when his feet left the ground, hands tightly wound around the wrist lifting him up. His chest twinged with each breath, the man almost wheezing. He couldn’t keep track of where they were anymore, He suddenly felt himself smacking into the wall, earning a hiss as he met the angel’s gaze. He could see the anger, the frustration, the sadness. He tried to be angry, but the truth was, he just felt pity for him. Everything he had to have gone through, it couldn’t have been easily, especially alone. While the relationship between him and Sam was what some called “erotically co-dependent,” they were all each other had. Something always stood between them, but they almost always worked it out sooner or later.

“I may be a hairless ape, but at least I’m not alone,” he whispered, taking a ragged and pained breath.

Lucifer knew where his rage lied but despite tossing the Winchesters around like his favorite chew toy, he didn’t get that personal satisfaction he should’ve felt. Of course, there was a twisted enjoyment in injuring people, c'mon, he was the devil!

“You little - !” Lucifer allowed some of his grace to come forward, his vessel’s body starting to radiate a bright, almost heavenly light before throwing the male aside with a simple flick of his wrists, growling.

“Alone? I don’t need company. Have you forgotten who I am?” The angel gave a scornful laugh,“The devil doesn’t need to be dependent on anyone but himself, unlike pesky mortals. Especially you famous co-dependent brothers “. “Are you pitying me? Because in this situation, I think the only one you should be pitying is yourself” He whispered in a low voice, tone promising danger and pain, advancing on the fallen other, lifting his leg to get a swift kick in,“The torture doesn’t end here, dean. I can promise you that. Think hell’s bad enough? I invented hell”.

Dean’s eyes narrowed, and he looked away, eyes squinting and blinking at the bright light from the angel’s grace. And, yet again, he went crashing into something else, a chair this time, sent sprawling across the floor with a little hiss. He rolled onto his side, pushing himself up to look at him.

“That’s what you think. Most people would probably just call you a psychopath for that thinking,” he whispered hoarsely, coughing as blood filled his mouth. He wiped at his lip and moved to get to his feet, though the tightness in his chest made that extremely difficult.

“I do pity you. Because in the end, you leave nothing behind. I won’t either, for that matter, but for the time being, I’ll have Sam, whoever I saved. It’s all worth it one way or another,” he muttered, coughing again as he braced himself for another hit.

Dean woke with a start, finally able to sleep after days of running around doing research, making sure Lilith wasn’t on their tail, and keeping an eye on his brother. He hadn’t expected to fall asleep at the table, much less on top of his computer. He shook his head, blinking his eyes to try and wake himself up. His back popped when he sat up, just making him sigh as he rubbed his eyes.

He hadn’t even noticed her sitting on the bed, nearly jumping when he did see her. He gave a little curse, standing and shooting her a look before we went to the little crappy coffee maker to make himself another cup.

“Please tell me you weren’t sitting there the entire time.”

More than Pretend// Closed

Lucifer sat at a table, absorbing words which formed sentences while allowing himself a moment of peace which was rare now that he was around the Winchesters as their helpful guardian angel friend. If he thought it was bad enough being their enemy, being their friend? Hell, just shoot him down from heaven again. Please.

He felt something in his grace, giving his eyes permission to stray as he glanced up from the book he was reading, seeing Dean Winchester. Man, do they never give one time alone? Time for the mask of angelic constipation. “A bullet would not wound me, much less kill me. Also, you forget that I can reach the bullet before it even reaches me” He replied with a deep, gravelly voice, eyes returning back to the book before flickering to the human. “You are tired” The angel observed with a slight tilt of his head, wide blue eyes narrowing,”Why are you not asleep?”.

‘Castiel’ frowned, his brows furrowing together, taking a quick look at the cover page before returning his gaze to Dean. “This book proved to be an interesting source of entertainment, as well as helping me be more … sappy. You should try to be one too” He murmured, an almost questioning lilt to his tone. Acting as Castiel was much easier than he originally believed, his mini habits and gestures were all it took to convince the Winchesters it was him.

Like he predicted, the joke went south real quick. Dean rolled his eyes, though smiling a little as his arms crossed over his chest. “Yeah, Cas, I know, it’s just a saying. And okay, Mr. Miyagi. I’ll make sure to be recording that.” He shook his head lightly, feet tapping the air absently as he rested back. As much as he hated to say it, it was nice to have Cas around again. But, with everything going on, it made it hard, especially with the Darkness and searching for answers. But, at least they weren’t dead yet. Positive thought for the day.

“I’m always tired, Cas, comes with the whole ‘Amara’s still running free as a lion on the Savannah’ thing,” he sighed, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. it was the truth, though. He’d barely slept since the Darkness was set loose on the world, yet again, his doing. And, in typical Winchester fashion, he vowed to set it right.

“... Wait, you seriously read it already? Huh... Guess Charlie was right after all,” he mumbled, hand running through his hair before he made a little noise of surprise, feet falling back to the ground as he lurched forward. “W-wait, just a second, Cas, after everything, you.... Seriously? I need to be more sappy? I thought we finally figured everything out.”

Lucifer faked a grimace that could almost be considered teasing but his eyes spoke volumes. Spoke of barely controlled rage. Nothing like finding out that a weapon with almost infinite power was a fake.

“Cat’s out” The fallen shrugged just as he saw Sam pass out from their ‘little rejected-at-the-prom session’ out of the corner of his peripheral vision and proceeded to grab the other by the collar, drawing him within breathing distance.

“The Winchesters, ah, where do I even begin. The pathetic family business? The whole apocalyptic mess? The whole throwing the devil back into his little idiot box? You little hairless apes just love to play heroes, screwed up ones, might I add. Don’t think you can even stop me this time, think you’re getting rather cocky …. Dean” Lucifer growled, saying the other’s name with pure distaste as if it left a bad taste in his mouth, flinging the green-eyed male aside like a ragdoll, storming towards him with dark intent.

“The only way to greet the devil is with fear”.

When Sam shouted that it wasn’t Cas, he couldn’t really believe it at first. But, the instant his brother hit the ground, his stomach sank and twisted, too slow to react as he felt himself yanked off his feet toward the angel. His hands latched onto the other’s wrists, keeping himself from falling.

“Can’t say your family’s much better,” he growled, anger rising swiftly. “It doesn’t matter what you do, we’ll always win, one way or another,” he whispered hotly, knowing that this probably wasn’t going to end well, but he had nothing really left to lose, right?

Dean’s jaw clenched tightly, scowling as he caught footing and tried to break free of the tight grip. He got his wish, finding himself colliding with the wall of the Bunker and collapsing to a heap. He pushed himself to his feet, taking a breath. “Fear is for those who don’t understand, Lucifer. I do. I’m not afraid of you.”

Lucifer cracked his knuckles, tilting his head with an unreadable expression,”Don’t pretend to know me or my family. Just because, hm, i don’t know, you got a glimpse of heaven more than the average apes’ doesn’t mean you know what it was, is like to be part of a family that kicks you out for loving too much! Just because you refused to bow to murderous, twisted creatures like some good little soldier”.

His bloodlust getting less tamed by the minute and hell, does he want the Winchesters to suffer at his hands, or at least, his vessel’s. “But I don’t think you’ll understand what with being Daddy’s good little soldier, well-trained robot”.

“Oh, that’s because I was late to the party. Allowed you to get a little cocky, Winchester” The devil’s eyes glowed slightly, seemingly more bright blue than it already was,”You will be. Even the strongest man crack by the devil’s hands. Oh, like sweet little Sammy over there. Yeah, mm-hm, had such a great time ‘bonding’ with him in hell, his sweet yells and screams. Never got tired of it and for you? I will see to it that you end up the same if not worse, personally”. He materialized beside the other, throwing swift punches and kicks, trying to pin Dean down.

Dean took a few little steps back, his back hitting the wall and dropping a little, knowing the other was probably gonna be at him at some point. He could try and fight, but in the end, the angel had the upper hand. He had been in the Bunker, knew where everything was. There really was no way to get Lucifer out of here without hurting, Cas, too.

“Maybe not completely, but I still know shitty families when I see them,” he retorted sharply, taking a deep breath. He could see the angel’s eyes, the expressions on Cas’s face. He knew he wasn’t gonna make it very far... The mention of his brother, set him on edge, face twisting in anger.

And, he was right, in the end. The angel appeared beside him, nearly every hit landing as he tried to get back and out of reach. It wasn’t enough, and he could feel his ribs bending and the air getting knocked out of him until he stumbled back and fell.
