In an old industrial area of Milan, a young couple owns a new house settled in what remained of a 19th century confectionery. The house embraces a beautiful patio. This loft breathes an ambiance of perfect harmony and symmetry. Michele de Lucchi had the honour to turn this into a project of historical thinking and yet contemporary design. Like in some other projects he took inspiration from his childhood and the ambiance pictured in the famous Italian movie ‘Novecento’ from Bertolucci. The art of Rota

The architect Italo Rota was given the free hand to reinvent the entire exhibition area of the Palazzo dei Musei di Reggio Emilia. Making it totally new in some parts and restyled in other sections. A new ambiance and vision which according to Rota has to provoke a historical awareness and in the same time reflect how the city moves into the future. ADVANCED CERAMIC DESIGN BY FLAMINIA

Who talks about Italian interior design, knows that this also includes the art of ceramic styling for sanitary for decades. One of those Italian specialized companies is Ceramica Flaminia, who explored this new market over the past half century. Did you know the prestigious 'Compasso d'Oro', is the oldest design award on this planet organised bij the ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale)? The first edition was already 60 years ago. It confirms the Italian art and rich tradition of inventing the finest objects from chairs (like this winning fantasy by#ThomasHeatherwick for #Magis) to cars (Ferrari F12berlinetta) or even ski boots. This year the award of Compasso d'Oro 2014 was combined with a temporary exhibition at the former factory of Ansaldo in Via Tortona Milan. Twenty winners were selected and received the golden compass.
