@itismissdavidson
I miss them.
I can’t believe the fucking writers. They killed Bea and made her actually dead when we all hoped for over a year that she’d survived, but they can’t fucking kill Ferguson for real for five whole minutes without resurrecting her.
That ending was so not credible, with everyone looking so anxious about Joan being dead or not, like, don’t you all pretend you don’t want her dead as much as we do! She’s a monster and Franky just stated all her crimes, and they all hate her so much, so at some point they gotta admit that her being dead would be for the best, for everyone. Especially Vera, like why the fuck would she even want to keep her alive?! Finally seeing her lost herself a little and decide to let Joan die even though she always wants to protect the women would have been a truly interesting character development. Such a waste.
I hope Ferguson fucking dies at last, and soon. I’m getting really tired of her character ruling the whole show when there’s so many more interesting storylines to be told.
PS: fuck you Vera
Franky knew what was up!
Season 6 episode 1 “Clean Slate”
Does this mean we finally get rid of Ferguson? PLEASE LET IT BE *prays hard*
5x05 & 5x06: Belly of the Beast & Happy Birthday Vera - Wentworth Season 5
I watched the latest two episodes of Wentworth at the same time, just now (yes I’m late!), here’s just a few random thoughts about them:
Will saving Kaz and her reaction to it was beautiful, I loved it. Will’s always been a good guy deep down, and I’m happy the writers chose to keep him that way.
Is Allie planning to make Ferguson OD, or to kill herself to be with Bea? The logical answer would be the first one, since the promo for this season was all about revenge from Allie on Ferguson and we haven’t had any of that yet (why, btw? How is Allie just walking around in the same corridors as Ferg when she knows she killed Bea?), and also Allie doesn’t look depressed or suicidal at all.
Doreen getting her transfer refused: WHY?! You get Maxine out of the show in half a second, but when it comes to ridding us of the most annoying character ever, she just gets to stay there forever to annoy us more. UGH.
Poor Vera is going to be shred to pieces when she finds out Jake was playing her. She is just a sad little puppy needing to be loved, and it’s actually kind of true that no one really does, and it’s just horrible. I could actually see her commit suicide at the end of the season if she loses her job to Jake or Ferguson and realizes how blind she’s been. I don’t want it, but I can imagine it.
Franky’s escape attempt was cut short, thank god. She doesn’t need to get into more trouble right now.
Ferguson becoming Top Dog: Franky fucking knew it all along! She said it at the very beginning: “She wants to be Top Dog!”. And of course that was gonna happen. When will she finally be taken down? I can’t wait.
5x04: Loose Ends - Wentworth Season 5
I really enjoyed this episode!
SONIA FUCKING DID IT! Can’t say I’m surprised, she’s really enigmatic and weird. Kudos to Sigrid Thornton for a great performance. I’m so confused about the Don storyline with her though. After the last few scenes, I don’t know if he was just a dumb corrupt cop who was helping Sonia for the money, or if he was actually undercover trying to get information on how she killed her husband, in order to put her in prison for good? Cause honestly this would be a better storyline. If he wasn't undercover, why did the cops arrest Sonia at her house just out of the blue? But then if he was undercover, why is he on "stress leave" when Vera calls?
Franky and Allie becoming friends and being all cute together: YES! But Franky and Allie getting all weird about each other for a hot second there: NOPE! I mean, on a physical level, I’d be happy to see these two gorgeous women join lips at some point because DUH, but story-wise I’d find it way too predictable and... just a bad idea. The girlfriend and the best friend getting together after Bea dies? It would have to be very well written and brought in with subtlety in order for me to get on board with it.
Ferguson’s storyline this episode was really boring IMO. I like that she’s not the center of the show so far because I seriously can’t stand her, but then her scenes are just uninteresting to me.
Doreen wants to be transferred to Perth: well GET ON WITH IT ALREADY! Get out of Wentworth you whiny dull character thank you and goodbye (sorry Shareena but Doreen’s always been a no-no for me).
Also, when will Jake get caught? Because that little fuckboy is really annoying especially since he keeps getting away with it.
Franky planning to escape, I was like HOE DON’T DO IT I don’t know if she’ll get through with it but I honestly hope she doesn’t. If she does, they’re gonna bring down more shit on her and she just needs to catch a break already!
PS: just a quick reminder that even though I ask questions in my recaps about what’s going to happen next, I don’t actually want to know (not now I mean)! I never watch the “next week” teasers and I don’t want to be spoiled ;)
5x01: Scars - Wentworth Season 5
So, Wentworth is back!
After a very difficult hiatus where I was angry at the show about Bea’s death and kinda refused to think about it, I finally decided to watch season 4 again just before the start of season 5, hoping that a rewatch after all this time would help me be less emotional, or at least less mad about it. And it did help a bit. I was ready for season 5 and Wentworth without Bea Smith.
But then, the opening scene with the recap from last season (really nice editing), and everyone’s mourning of Bea, with Bat For Lashe’s “Laura” playing over it... yeah I sobbed like a baby. But just wow. That scene was really beautiful with great performances and great editing. No rushing, which I appreciate because I think we all needed at least those 3 minutes and 5 secondes to acknowledge the fact that Bea really died, and to try to say goodbye and move on.
So move on I shall...
I immediately noticed Franky’s arm (with her new tattoo) in the opening credits, so I knew they were planning on getting her back inside, but I didn’t know how soon...
They got a new actor for Mike Pennisi, I hate when they do that... and I really don’t like the new guy. But apparently he’s dead now so we won’t see him again!
Maxine is being transferred? WTF? I’m like Boomer right now, I don’t want her to go! They can send Doreen away to Perth (like she suggested at the end of season 4) all they want, that would be totally fine by me (I actually really want her to disappear as I never could stand her). But don’t take Maxine away! She’s one of the best ones.
Ferguson beating everyone up in the yard: impressive. But I’m not surprised, as we’ve had a glimpse of her strength when she strangled Jess in season 3 and lifted her off the floor just like she did Allie. I love when we get to see her lose control and when her crazy shows like this, but I’m still kinda shocked that no one seems to realize how completely batshit crazy and incredibly dangerous she is, even after she killed Bea! Like, no one should have contact with her ever again; her words alone are so dangerous, she can manipulate and get under anyone’s skin so easily... gives me the creeps.
I hate that Vera is still so blind about Jake. He’s a scumbag and he needs to go down.
I wish Franky had kept being honest with Bridget about the pictures Mike used to threaten her, just like when she told her she had a coffee with him. Instead she kept it all to herself (but that’s quite Franky-like though, right?) and now there’s going to be trouble between them :’(
Also I didn’t expect Franky’s new storyline to happen so quickly. That’s only episode 1 and she’s already getting arrested, like... too quick, man! But on the bright side, this means we’ll get loads of her this season (not like her rare appearances in season 4), and I can only be happy about that. That’s like a requirement now that Bea’s gone. Otherwise, it’s not Wentworth anymore... (and now that I’ve said that, I just hope she won’t be in three eps and then disappear again for the rest of the season xD)
Welp that’s it for 5x01. It was good. I hope the rest of the season will be too.
It falls to Franky to bring the devastating news about Bea to Allie.
I’ve just finished my Wentworth season 4 rewatch, just in time for season 5!
I’m still upset about Bea’s death, but I think rewatching it all while already knowing what was going to happen helped me be a little less mad... So yeah, we’ll see how they deal with it in the new season (hopefully not too badly).
Is that short hair I see on Bridget? Or is it just tied in a ponytail or something?
Is it just me or does Doreen never take responsibility and blame others all the fucking time
Hey! After Franky holds Bea under water, do you know the song after that when Franky & Kim are in her cell?
Hi! So sorry for the delay, Tumblr didn’t notify me for your ask!
The music during that scene is not an actual song, it is part of the original Wentworth score. Courtesy of Richard Pleasance I presume, since all the scoring is usually done by him :)
To my followers:
Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that even though I haven’t posted or reblogged anything for a few months, I’m still alive (for starters lol) and I’ll be back when season 5 starts airing.
After that season 4 finale, I wasn’t ok, and then I thought I was, but it turns out I really, really needed some time away from it all. I think I still do and am not totally ready to get back to Wentworth. So I’ll see you guys in a bit. Thanks if you’re still following me! xoxo
PS: If you wanna check my general blog in the meantime (even though I don’t post much there either at the moment), here it is: longliveregina.tumblr.com
I'm watching Wentworth for the first time.
Why did they have to kill Debbie?!
Oh boy, you’re in for a rollercoaster of emotions. Debbie’s death is only the beginning... Hang in there!
Does anyone know where I can watch These Empty Streets, a short film from 2012 starring Libby Tanner?
It’s 30 minutes long and I’ve only found the trailer and a few 2 minutes clips but not the whole thing. I’m even willing to buy it, as it seems interesting and Libby looks gorgeous in it, but it doesn’t seem to exist anywhere… Any tips?
I wanna see this too
Send me a private message, I might have a little something for you... ;)
I just found "Wentworth" on Netflix 2 weeks ago and binged twice. Season 4 was a mess, poorly written, ridiculous. I LOVE this show. Orange is the New What??
Hi!
Sorry but I’ll have to disagree about season 4. I don’t like how they ended it and they made some obvious mistakes along the way, but I still enjoyed the season overall (but it’s not the best one for sure).
Glad you’re hooked on the show though! And yes, OITNB got very boring for me too once I discovered Wentworth... I still watch it but it’s definitely nothing compared to Wentworth ;)
I would be incredibly shocked if they brought Bea back for season 5. I read spoilers before I saw the season and knew that she was going to be murdered. I was worried about how her death would be played out, but after watching the finale I accept the death of one of my favorite characters. Bea lunged at the screwdriver, because from her perspective everyone she cared about has died. They hinted at a possible suicide throughout the whole season, so to see that they killed her off was not all that surprising. Bea was depressed, she was self harming, tired of being top dog, and realizing the gravity of living in jail for the rest of her life. While I think it will be hard to watch the show without her, I will be excited to see what season 5 brings.
After taking a couple of weeks to calm down (unlike you I didn't get spoiled, and I discovered the whole thing as I watched the episode), I agree with most of what you said. On some level I understand the dramatic choice (depending on how you choose to look at it, it does make sense) and can appreciate the boldness of such a decision. BUT everything was not hopeless for Bea, as her relationship with Allie brought her more joy than she'd felt in a very long time and in a way she'd never experienced before. It was only one positive thing but it was a big one, and I wish they'd held on to that to honor that newfound love and to send a more positive message than the one we got instead.
