I was reading this Chemistry book by Oliver Sacks and in the footnote, he talked about how he as a child wanted Xenon, a noble gas, to bond with another element cause he thought noble gases were lonely since they rarely bond with other elements. He wanted Fluorine to bond with Xenon cause Fluorine was dangerous and chaotic. And then in the 1960s, someone discovered a compound of Xenon and Fluorine occurring naturally.
