Music brings me so much joy ✨🥰 Something I did not grow up doing: singing WHILE playing the piano. 😆 Sure, I did musicals, choir, vocal jazz- but I never accompanied myself on the piano! Have I played since I can remember? Yes, yet whenever I played music, they were piano pieces or I would play the voicing. So, the night before I flew to MN a few weeks ago, I decided to find this song- it feels appropriate with how I keep going to Northern MN for an undetermined amount of time this year 😂, and... well.. if you swipe over- there’s a couple snippets of me having fun sight reading. I’ve done this maybe once before, where I live streamed while playing- AND singing- through the entiiire Phantom of the Opera- doing different voices for each character. Did my viewers think I was insane? Probably- but I don’t care 🤓 will that video ever see the light of day again? The pose is very ‘I’m ready world!’” me- “...’I’m ready to float around in my dream and then get stressed out because I can’t land.’” Had a lovely ballet dream last night- taking barre, my dance friends were there, it was exhilarating- and then my balance got stuck during a turn 😂 it just kept going (in a realistic way) as the next group was coming to center- and I got an eyeroll from the director as I did a flourish to shift out of the balance 😂 How do you dream when you sleep? Mine are so very vivid, realistic- one time during college, I was infuriated at a friend for days- because I had a dream where they did something stupid (like put my life in danger). Had to keep reminding myself that it didn’t actually happen 🙈 Another time I dreamt that the dog destroyed my deodorant... Autumnal Equinox 🍁☀️💫 Feels so good to be in Minnesota during this time- seeing the trees burst with different colors, leaves softly tumbling, the weather being bipolar (32°-80°), harvesting from the garden, making apple everything, and getting the last bits of summer work in before the frost starts 🧡 One of the hardest differences with moving to LA has been the lack of severe seasonal change! With having such seasonal changes, you set goals for and by each season- and it’s still very ingrained in me... Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 I’m so proud of how far our country has come, how hard the generations before us worked, and how we are ever advancing and growing ❤️ I feel as if many forget: People moved and still move here for freedom, to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others- maybe where they came from the odds of success and growth were near impossible or the quality of life not progressing due to oppressions.
