LIGHT ON ME (2021)
caress [noun]: an act or gesture expressing affection, as an embrace or kiss, especially a light stroking or touching.
Adachi being in fact the cutest ever
I don’t know why no one talked about this. . .
This is image is from episode 1. As we can see it’s all nice and tidy, a place for everything, everything in its place. It’s symbolic of his comfort in his boring day to day routine.
However. . .
This is from episode 12, after their breakup. Obviously everything is a mess. This just goes to show how much Adachi really loved Kurosawa. Not only does his room mirror that of someone who’s obviously heartbroken, but it also signifies how he can’t go back to “normal”.
His comfort in his old routine isn’t there anymore, because Kurosawa brought excitement to his life, he made it better. Now the world seems just little more dim than before.
(Sorry, I just love all the small details.)
thanks, now I'm about to cry 😢
OH MAN, THIS ISN’T FAIR!

1. when you’re a 30 year old virgin and you find out that the most popular guy at work is absolutely smitten with you.
CHERRY MAGIC! Episode 2
I’ve always had my eyes on you. With or without the magic, you would still be you.
I’ve got a rare shot of Adachi. I’ll make this my wallpaper and admire it every day and night.
I don’t want to be with anyone but you, either.
Are you sure? Even if you lose your power? Yes. If you’re with me, I don’t need magic.
kurosawa living that queer life like. quietly pining for a hundred years. creating intricate rituals to interact with his crush. being head-over-heels in love and the sappiest boyfriend on earth. proposing after less than 2 months of dating and 3 days of breaking up. freaking superb you funky little man.
Cherry Magic really is telling you that the worst things you think about yourself aren’t true. Cherry Magic says that no matter how badly you see yourself, there are always people looking at you with love, admiration, care, friendship. No matter how much you think you have nothing to offer, the rest of the world disagrees.
society in general expects us to have it all figured out by 20. we’re expected to always have goals/dreams, they pressure us to the point where if we’re not being productive we don’t feel worthy of being happy. and when we hit the age of 30 they start saying that we’re old, when really?? 30 is young. so young.
that’s why i’m extremely thankful to the revolutionary drama cherry magic for giving us a 30 year old protagonist that hasn’t figured himself out yet. in fact, he’s only now starting to learn how to deal with adulthood and finding goals for himself, in his own time. that is relatable to so many of us young adults that usually feel like we’re failing in life when it’s actually very common to not have your shit together in your 20s!!
we don’t always know what we want, we don’t always have goals but that doesn’t make us less valid. we’re not running out of time, that’s just a capitalist excuse so we won’t spend too much time taking care of ourselves and more time making money for them.
but it’s okay to still be figuring yourself out!!!! i think that’s really important to show, especially in the japanese culture.
so thank you cherry magic for normalizing being a messy adult cuz we all can relate to that 💖
Whether it’s going on a date, having a meal together or holding hands, that person will be your first everything. I’m sure they will be happy. If it were me, I’d be so happy. Cherry Magic | Episode 10
