She shakes her head, “It’s alright. Right now we’re worried about you, anyway. Ready to head to the cabin and get settled or was there somethin’ else you wanted to see?”
He shakes his head silently and waits for her to lead the way even though he knows where their cabin is.
"I don’t think it really matters to her much. She’s new to being counselor and I don’t think she wanted to mess up greeting you home well. She’s really a great girl and great sister. You’ll love her."
He smiles a little and nods then starts walking towards the cabin without asking where it is.
"Yeah. What’s wrong with it?"
He frowns "I just didn't want be a burden ... I'm sure I can find my own way."
Her eyebrows furrow. “Our last counselor was our oldest boy, Sean, but he was,” she pauses as if the next thing she has to say will leave a sour taste on her tongue, “…killed. So, our next oldest camper was Blue, but she didn’t want to be counselor which then led to me gettin’ the spot. We don’t go by gender, we go by age and years at camp.”
He frowns "Sorry 'bout your brother ..." he shifts from one foot to another uncomfortably.
Amber looks up at Jackson with a wide smile, desperately fighting the urge to snap a quick photo. “Is that a good thing?”
He tries to smile back at her but he's too shocked to really mean it. "I won't have any trouble finding my cabin at least ..."
[walking along the border when he sees him] YO! Who are you?
He frowns "Jackson, who are you?"
"What haven’t change much?" She asked while she instinctively reached for her whipped that was coiled around her waist. "And who are you?"
Jackson was about to answer her until she reached for her whip and his breathing shallowed instantly as he patted his pockets for a weapon or a shield or something. When he finds nothing he takes several steps back from her before sprinting towards Hephaestus cabin.
Dean looks at Jackson, confused. “The fuck are you?”
Jackson frowns, he'd hoped there would be a few campers he could recognize but then he remembered that Amber and L said it's been almost 90 years since he's been at camp. "Uh, Jackson. Jackson Cooper, son of Hephaestus."
Viv fixes her hair and then confidently approaches the new camper. “So, you’re the Heph boy I’ve heard so much about?”
Jackson is completely overwhelmed by everything so when the pretty girl walks up to him, maybe just a little too close for his comfort, he takes a step back. "You've heard of me?"
"Yep," she said smiling. "You’re a few cabins down from mine and my siblings. My mother is Athena. I’ll walk with ya if you like."
"Ya sure ya want to do that?"
She falters slightly, “I— Well, new to me, then.” She shifts on her feet slightly, her confidence starting to shatter. “I’m Andrea Simmons, but you can call me Andi. I’m an eighth year camper and counselor of cabin nine.”
Jackson raises an eyebrow "A girl cabin counselor? Sorry ... 's just different. Cabin Counselor used to go to the oldest man ..."
"Nice to meet you too Jackson. Has Andi shown you to the cabin yet? You should see it, she cleaned it up all nice for you coming. She threatened us if we made a mess again."
He shakes his head "Nah, 'haven't met her ... She don't like messes?"
"Oh, yeah." She realizes her joke backfired. "I was referencing something you didn’t know about to be funny.. But you didn’t know about it, so you didn’t find it funny." She shrugs. "It’s basically a lazy person’s oven."
He watches her warily and nods to what she's saying. "Oh, all right. That - errr ... in'erestin'."
She shakes his hand before letting go and fixing her headphones so that they’re hanging around her neck. “Well Jackson, I assume you’re coming back to camp. Have you been claimed?”
"Yeah, uh - Hephaestus is my father." He points towards the cabins "Cabin's that way. 'Least if I 'member right."
L walks beside him, watching his face as he takes it all in. “Really? Well, actually, I can see that.” She nods. “We have a microwave now though.” She attempts to make a joke.
"A what?" He stops walking and turns to her. "It sounds dangerous .."
Keaton casually walks up to Jackson. “So, you’re the Hephaestus kid, L and Amber had to find. I’m Keaton by the way. And you are?”
"Uh - Jackson ... nice to meet you."
"Oh sorry, where are my manners," Kerri said and held out her hand. "I’m Kerrigan but most people call me Kerri."
He hesitates before taking her hand "Uh, Jackson Cooper. But you can call me anything really. Jackson, Jack, Cooper, Coop ... It's great to meet you."
