People often withhold empathy and then expect it in return. It can be seen in every political debate or every day conversation. Some people would rather die than have empathy for someone that would not give it back. Not everyone is going to be kind but withholding kindness doesn't help situations but instead agitates them. This continues the conflict with no foreseeable ending. A cycle that doesn't stop. It's what we see today all over the world.
