Name a song from this album, that's your favorite?
Confetti Falling
Reblog/Like this post if you like Kamen Rider Ex-Aid
Just wanna see how many people in the toku fandom are enjoying the show like I am.
Headcanon: whenever Emu encounters an ill patient who has a serious disease such as cancer or something, he calls up Kengo to inspire them.
No matter what time of day it is, Kengo always answers because he himself remembers the number of times he was taken to the hospital for his 'illness' and how he always wished he had someone to look up to like that and he wants to inspire others not to give up on their dreams. No matter how sick they are.
Ikki watching the world cup
Ikki was super invested in it when he was in middle school and high school, back when he was very passionate about football and was thinking about going pro. It's one of the few things that could get him to shirk on his chores and duties at the bathhouse, and while his parents did scold him about ditching to watch the games their scolding was half-hearted at best because it was one of the few things he was so passionate about outside of his familial duties.
Ikki gave it up along with his dreams of going pro after his friend's accident (not that he remembers that it's the reason why he gave it up thanks to Vice's meddling). He would look up highlights and such on occasion but didn't follow it so closely, rationalizing to himself that he was too busy with the bathhouse (and later, with being a Kamen Rider) to really pay close attention anymore.
However, when he started pursuing pro football again, he started to watch the games again, almost obsessively. He stayed up several nights watching not only the current games but also the ones he missed out, hoping to learn from them. Sometimes his siblings would be woken up by his cheering or cursing in the dead of the night and they have to yell at him through the wall to keep it down.
When he eventually makes it onto Team Japan though, he never watches the games he's in. Somehow it embarrasses him to see himself play even though people point out how useful it could be to see his mistakes and such.
After he gets on Team Japan, he brings them to the bathhouse after every match, regardless if they've won or not and it always cheers everyone up.
Especially after a cuddle with lovekov

I’m really split between characterizing Little Emu as a student with bad grades or some kind of exemplary student.
Because on one hand he was a kid with a lot of problems. Neglectful dad, dead/absent mom, just loneliness in general. So it would make sense for him to be a “bad” student/falling behind in school.
But also... he’s a doctor. So it would also make a lot of sense if he was a good student.
Does anyone have any advice? Or something stated in canon about Little Emu’s school life? Rn I’m thinking I should write Little Emu as falling behind in school up until Parado is extracted from him at which point he locks in and gets into med school. But idk
I'm kinda on the fence about this as well, I mean we know what emu was like in High School. In the novel it is explained that the day of the extraction, which was also the same day Nico lost to emu, he neglected sleep and eating in order to focus on practicing for the tournament and then nearly collapses when it was complete. Then after the extraction, emu did a turn around and not only graduated high school, but also got into medical school, which is apparently extremely difficult. As according to one of the replies in this Reddit post (go to konpeito_05) who states that even in Japan, medical school is extremely difficult to get into unless you have money, connections, OR SUPER SMART. Looking back at the series, I think that Seito university hospital is probably one of the top universities in the country because out of all the hospitals in Japan, Kuruto specifically chose that hospital to create the CR base (or maybe it was because the Gemn building was basically next door to it, but Seito does have a helicopter pad which are usually reserved for major trauma centers, specialized hospitals or large regional medical hubs where critically ill patients require rapid transport).
So that means that Seito university hospital is probably a large regional hospital, which might be really hard to get in.
Now, as said above, getting into any medical school in Japan is extremely difficult, unless you have connections, money or really smart. Meaning that many kids who aspire to be medical students require years of dedicated study. Now we know that Emu does not have connections and there's no way his father would pay for his medical studies, meaning he got into school with his smarts, however in the novel, in emu's room, he had medical textbooks that were buried underneath his consoles, as if he was hiding from his dreams, and when taiga tried to give emu a medical textbook, he threw it away and basically said there was no chance at getting in AND even stated "I don't see the value of life". Something he states so hard in the series that it's literally his whole character, the reason he killed parad, the lesson he tries to teach EVERYONE.
But then at some point in his life he did a turn around, got his s*t together and got into medical school even though he probably had less dedicated study time as the other students.
I remember that @sailor-cresselia has a post where they stated it was because Emu was so smart is why Kuruto infected him.
But back to the original post, about little emu's school life I'd say it was decent for him. As he was constantly moving around, it meant it was difficult to make friends but also had multiple different teachers, which made it hard for him to trust them as NONE of them noticed something wrong with his home life.
As a future teacher, one of the things we learn is how to look for students with difficult home lives, this can include what they eat for lunch, the clothes they wear, etc.
The fact that Emu went through his whole schooling life WITHOUT a single teacher noticing says a lot about why he trusts and looks up to doctors, and dr Kyoutaro, so much. Because they were the first to just...see him. To notice him. To make him feel...human.
Plus, in the novel emu wishes that he liked rain and that the school would close down due to all the rain because he had no friends, but imagine if it was also because he was bored in class. Because he was so smart, he might have felt like he wasn't learning anything in class and was therefore bored and was part of the reason why he didn't care for school which later transferred to how he viewed his high school education.
Plus, emu completed his surgical internship under Hiiro, who has not only spent his whole life around doctors, but is also deemed as 'the genius surgeon', which meant his expectations were extremely high and under those 3/4 months of interning under Hiiro, emu learned a lot and though this internship was immediately about to identify what was wrong with a patient by just a quick examination.
Plus, let's not forget the most important thing. Emu completed his internship While being a Kamen rider and being in another department full time. Doctors have to write reports yeah? Meaning emu not only had to write reports for his normal internship while doing whatever it is Japanese medical students have to complete while doing their internship, but also do reports for CR. you have to be extremely smart to balance all of that while being a medical intern.
On another note, I have a head cannon that Emu did once try and do bad at school to get his dad's attention, but instead it caused his dad to not provide him enough money for him to buy any food for the week or month, leaving little emu starving and deciding to get do ’well enough' in school so he wouldn't starve, which continued over the course of his childhood.
But if you did want little emu to fall behind in school, it could've happened after the 'accident' as it was likely he was in hospital for a good while and missed out on some school, and even smart kids can fall behind if they don't attend school, even if they are bored.
OH??? THANK YOU SO MUCH PREV. This definitely helps since I don’t have the novel... Thank you so much!!!
No problem, if you do want access to the novel here is a translation of it from Wattpad:

Gordon would be given a magicarp as a prank then it qould become a gyrados. bc ofc. for whatever reasons i've also put greyninja? im not sure how much it fits
I wrote alan as steel. idk why.
Kayo is dark/ghost. Dragapult/mimikyu/kingambit.
brains is electric with bronzong and klingklang. would max in this pokemon world look more pokemon like....
I wrote Penny down as grass but i think really its anything that would look elegant like gardevoir, snivy and rosalina.
Parker is fighting bc he kicks ass. Hitmontop and Machoke.
I gave grandma a clefairy. i do not know why. somehow it fits.
please please PLEASE give me your thoughts on this.
I imagine John with a porygon. Here me out:
John lives in TB5, a satellite that operates as international rescue main line of support, so most resources are most likely spent on equipment to ensure routing calls, enhancing signal strength and ensuring that it is protected from hackers. The next past is obviously to life support, as TB5 can be operated from.the island most likely the life support system is suited for 1 person manning full time.
Plus the limited space would make it difficult to have a Pokémon up there, plus space food...yeah, not that nice. Especially for Pokémon, since most would probably not be suited to life in space full time.
So, the best Pokémon for John to have is a porygon, as it's made of code meaning that it can mostly live in the computers and assist John in rescues, while also ensuring his safety, both physically and mentally.
Plus it ties in with EOS, both being digital beings that evolved from a code.
Anyways, that's just my idea but I love all your other ideas!

Next up for my studio vs live BTR song analysis is one of my all time favourites!
Nothing Even Matters! I love how lyrically beautiful this song is and how it is the first BTR love song that does not involve the word 'girl' once, showing that this is a love song for everyone.
First off, this song has Logan who begins singing the opening verse instead of Kendall or James, which again, is a nice change. then we have both Kendall and Logan as the prominent voices in the chorus, which I love as their voices mesh really well together.
After that, it is Logan who sings about 80% of the song (not counting lyrics), then it comes to Kendall, who sings about 10%, James, who sings about 7% and then Carlos who sings the least in this song, only doing backups for James gets 2% roughly.
Overall, this is Logan's song and I'm glad they had him be the main vocalist for this song cause relistening to it, the other boys' voices were more suited for being secondary vocalists, not the whole song.
Once again in the live version, Kendall seems to sing lower to allow his voice to blend in better with the other boys during the opening of the song. What I also noticed is that Logan, bless his heart, shares his opening verse with Carlos, similar to how Carlos now shares part of his verse with Logan in Boyfriend. Which, again, is a beautiful display of their genuine friendship.
Even though Logan's voice is more prominent, their voices still mesh really well together and I'm glad that Carlos can sing more in Nothing Even Matters.
Now the first chorus is where it gets really interesting, and shows a display in Kendall's vocal range. At first, he starts off loud, so his voice is more prominent when the boys sing 'Cause the world stops' then after that he lowers his voice so instead his voice harmonises with the other boys so he isn't standing out vocally.
I know I said earlier that Logan now shares his opening verse with Carlos, which is amazing, but what's more amazing is that Logan gives Carlos the whole of his second verse, allowing him to finally have a solo in the song. I mean, yeah, Logan is still singing, but now he is the one backing Carlos up.
One of the small subtle changes in the song is that Logan changes how long he holds the note for 'no', in the Forever tour, he made a quick yet high 'no', but in the IRL tour, it's a short and simple no, not really singing it, it's nearly a statement of sorts (if that makes sense).
In this version, we get Kendall, Logan and Carlos' sing 'oh yeah' during James' solo which is an interesting decision as it really elevates the song
One of the best things about a concert is when the band and the music stop singing partway through a song and just let the audience sing. It's beautiful and is a testament to the band of the fans' love for them and the boys decided to stop the song and listen to the audience sing to them
I can see why the boys decided to go with mic stands whenever they sing this song, it makes them feel more in sync, but also the song is a very high-paced song and overall seems to have very simple dance moves, so it was quite easy to make the transition from dancing on stage to resolving the song around the mic stands.
Now, very early on Logan decided to share his second verse with Carlos, yet he does not really sing in the studio version. it makes me really curious as to how this happened obviously at this point of their career, the boys didn't have much say or choice on how they wanted to perform. Yet, Logan decides to give part of his solo to Carlos, I want to know how the conversation happened to let the record company be ok with this arrangement, because this is quite a big change where it's not Carlos just being a backup to Logan's solos. no. Carlos flat-out gets part of Logan's solo, and Logan is the backup for him, so I really want to know how this happened.
Anyways, enough on that, this time when James has his solo, it's not only Carlos that does backups, but Kendall does as well. It's almost a blink and you'll miss it moment, but Kendall sings 'oh yeah' with Carlos, but it's really quick
Ok, here's a question I really want to know the answer to
Do you prefer Kendall with hair or without?
with hair
no hair
both
little clip I found on Youtube about BTR's quick change from backstage Rush.
My favourite lines are;
"Whose leg is this?"

"My face!"
"That's your face?"
What's your favourite line/s?
The next song for my BTR studio vs live song battle is City is Ours!
Now, much like Boyfriend, this song is a staple for the band and has also gone through an evolution, so this will be an interesting analysis
now, unlike the other song intros where Kendall's voice was the most prominent one, this time it's James' voice and like the decision to do this because he can hit those high notes really well.
What I like about the first verse is that Carlos sings the pre-chorus instead of Kendall as in the other songs he sings most of the intro and I find this change very nice as it allows the other boys to have a spotlight.
Now this is where it gets unique, each member gets to have a solo in this song, unlike the BTR intro they are featured in the second half of the song, allowing each boy to have a chance to shine in this song.
In the Forever tour, not only do the boys sing with each other during their solo parts, but Kendall takes a backseat in during the chorus he still sings much on a much lower tone so he is still heard but you can hear the other boys much better, which I really like because its such a beautiful thing to do and lets the other boys shine with their much older songs.
Now in this version, you can really hear Kendall's voice, even when the other boys join him or during the chorus, I know that Nickelodeon really did want to make Kendall the frontman (as they do with many boy bands), but it didn't have to go so much, I'm so glad they changed it their much more recent tours.
Now in the latest version, they finally decide to make the decision to sing the whole song with James taking the lead to get the crowd hyped, much like in the Forever tour Kendall sings in a much lower tone, allowing the other boys voices to be heard during the chorus and even take the time to be a little silly with Carlos riding in the shopping cart, giving us the wonderful sillness and crazyness that is Big Time Rush. What I also really love is that they end this version with Logan's long note, which is wonderful as he doesn't get to end enough songs so this really gives him a chance to shine.
and in this version, with the BWYT, there isn't that much of a difference between this version and their NY performance except that the boys and the record company seem to have lots of fun with this version as both James and Logan do backflips and even gave them confetti to close the song.
So, I think for this song, I prefer the newer version 100% because it shows how much the boys have evolved where Kendall is able to sing in a lower tone yet still be heard, and gives us the wonderful chaotic version of BTR that we all love.
The next song for my BTR studio vs live song battle is Boyfriend!
For this, I will only be analysing the original version, not the one with Snoop Dog.
Buckle up rushers, this one's a long one.
So in this version, We mostly hear Kendall's voice in the chorus, and in this song, this time it's Logan who doesn't get a solo part. But we do get a Carlos solo and I really do like it but I prefer the live version better (sorta).
Much like Til' I forget about you, this has gone through quite the evolution in terms of live shows, so I'll analyse the IRL tour, the Forever tour, the BWY tour and the acoustic version.
In this live version, James' voice is more prominent in the chorus and I think it suits his voice very well and the boys are able to back it up quite nicely. Interestingly enough, the boys let Logan sing the "b-b-boyfriend" part while they dance, which is very nice of them, letting him have a solo part. In this version, I feel like the boys are singing together in harmony more, in James' solo they sing part of it which I find really interesting, but I also really like it.
Ok, we know that in the studio version, Logan doesn't get a solo, but Carlos, bless his heart, decides to share his solo with Logan. In the past version, they would sing it together, but now they alternate, which they SLAY! It gives them a chance to shine through with their different vocal ranges, with Carlos preferring a much lower tone and Logan going for a much higher tone.
In this version, the boys don't just join in James' solo, but Kendall's which I like very much as it adds more depth into the song and allows all the boys' voices to shine. Much like the old version, in thie version has both Logan and Carlos singing Carlos' solo together, but it does allow their voices to harmonise together and it makes me wish they had more duets together.
What I don't like is that they don't sing "b-b-boyfriend" but instead use a recording of it, when they dance, which for me takes part of it away. As in the old version they sing it:
Once again in this version, the boys sing part of James' solo, but interestingly, James sings a bit during Kendall's solo, but what's more interesting is that Logan does not sing during Carlos' solo and while he does sound really nice, I feel like having Logan adds more depth into the song.
One thing that's definitely stayed the same in all live versions is the dancing. They devote the very end of the song for just the boys to dance, in the old version they had had the band to play, giving them a bit of a spotlight, as that's all you can hear, while in the newer version its just the "b-b-boyfriend". I'm not sure which version I like, as they are both equally good.
and here's a little gem of an acoustic version of Boyfriend
Boyfriend is obviously a very fast, high-energy song, and it's quite a hard song to transfer into an acoustic version, which is just SO beautiful.
I love this slowed-down version of Boyfriend, and I think they should play it this way more because 1) it's beautiful, 2) it allows all their voices to shine, and 3) it allows having a short break from dancing and maybe going out into the audience as they've done with other songs. I think either way, fans will love any version of Boyfriend because it is just that good of a song.
But what's more is that Logan BEATBOXES! I mean, he has only one song where he gets to rap, but GOD! does this man deserve to rap more! I also really like the like that Kendall and James take the backseat and only do harmonies while Carlos and Logan are the main attraction, with Logan beatboxing and Carlos singing "b-b-boyfriend".
Next up for my Big Time Rush songs studio vs live is Til I Forget About You
Once again, in the studio version, you can hear Kendall's voice stand out the most while the other boys' voices blend together nicely. What I do like about this version is that you can clearly hear Carlos and Logan during their solos and they are quite lengthy as Carlos sings the second verse (which very much suits his voice) and then Logan SLAYS the final verse (especially the high note), I do wish James did a solo part in this song as he's the only one who didn't get a solo part, but you can't get everything.
This song is a staple in their concerts (like the theme song) and its gone through quite the evolution, so I'll analyse both.
In the newer versions, the music starts out much lower and slower and so does Kendall, showing us that they've matured with their audience and know how painful heartbreaks can be and they show us that with the opening of the song, showing the first stage of the breakup when you feel really sad (I'm not an expert on this, this is just my thoughts) and low. But then it picks up once they get to the chorus, why? because Kendall (and the song) mentions that the person is with their friends, friends who will pick you up when you are low, and it shows in the chorus that they are distracting the person from the breakup and cheering them up. Then it slows down slightly once more during Carlos' solo, showing that the person is slowly moving from their heartbreak and is slowly moving on with their life and picking up the pieces of their heart.
Now here's where it gets interesting, Logan's solo bounces back and forth as in the past live version, he does do his solo. I get why they can't skip over Carlos' solo, but I don't understand why they skip Logan's solo and just repeat the chorus.
In the new live version, the other boys are not dancing when Carlos is singing, allowing the attention to be on him, which I do like.
One last thing I've noticed is that similar between the live versions, both Carlos and Logan don't sing part of the chorus, if you look closely you can see that neither of them sing: "turn the music up now" "can I get a what now?" "gotta play it loud now" and "spinnin' all around now"
I'm not sure why the decision to have half the band not sing part of the chorus was made, nor why they continue it today, and it makes me wonder if there are any other songs where the boys just don't sing part of the chorus (if it's not preparing for a high note).
In my opinion, I think I do prefer the older one just a little bit more (studio/ Nickelodeon) just because we get to hear Logan's solo which is really nice.
Let me know which one you prefer!
hey guys, I'm starting a new set of posts where I compare Big Time Rush's songs from how they're sung in the studio vs how they are performed live as it can be very different when the boys sing live vs in a studio.
For some of the older songs, I will compare to how they did it under Nickelodeon vs now they sing them now. First up Is Big Time Rush!
Studio version:
Live version:
You can tell that Nickelodeon really did try to make Kendall the frontman (as he mentioned once in an interview) because in the studio version, his voice really stands out the most, especially in the chorus. While in the live version, their voices blend more and you can hear all their voices equally, which shows them that they are united together as a band and as friends.
But I think most people forget that Logan and Carlos have solos in the song, as they seem to skip over it or don't do it all, (not to mention James' high note), and they almost never sing the full version live.
I mean, they did back in the day. During their first concert in NY and in their Better with you tour, but even in those you can really hear kendall's voice stand out.
(I can't find a video that just has the BTR intro from the BWY tour)
So in terms so evolution, it I think it's in between. I like that you can now hear all the boys and that none of their voices really stand out, but I don't like that they now gloss over Logan and Carlos' amazing solos in the song.
Let me know what you think!
I really did love Hiiro's 100 level form, it truly does speak level 100, but I do think it can be improved just a bit.
Such as more gold, more armour and most importantly: a new weapon.
Emu got a new weapon when he got Mighty Brothers XX, and Taiga (kinda) got a new weapon with Bang Bang Simulations, so I decided to give Hiiro a new sword, which is technically 'unlocked' when he uses Tadle Fantasy, where he can use dark attacks, so it fits with the whole 'demon' theme. But when he gets Taddle Fantasy, he unlocks an extra mode with the sword where he can use light attacks. But much like his old sword, he can switch the modes (light and dark).
I also gave him a shield which he can control telepathcally to either shield himself or his allies, the symbols are to represt his three main forms: Demon, Knight and God/ angel.
I really hope you like it as it will appear in my X-aid story (where I will also be redesigning Emu's level 99 form as well as creating a level 100 form for Taiga, which should've been bang bang Tank)
