“But this is not the end of the story - -For their sacrifice was not in vain. Today there are lifeboats for all, unceasing radio vigil and, in the North Atlantic, the International Ice Patrol guards the sea lanes, making them safe for all peoples of the world.”
— -Closing text to the film “A Night to Remember”
Another Update! Wow!
Today is the Two Year Anniversary of the launch of ‘Admiral’!
It’s incredible to think of how much work I’ve put in to this story and how much it speaks to so many of you, even if big boats or the Titanic aren’t really in your wheelhouse of interests.
It means so much to me that you’re here and that you enjoy 'Admiral’ and I can never thank you enough for helping me make 'Admiral’ what it is.
Thank you so, so much!
With that said I am pulling 'Admiral’ out of it’s unofficial July hiatus and placing it into an official hiatus while I work on building back my buffer and while I also work on other (paid) comics. I’ve had a few takers already but if you’d like do some guest art that I can upload here and on Tapas during this hiatus feel free to DM me on my various social media accounts!
Thank you all again so so much!

Titanic Survivors: Michel Navratil (1908 - 2001) and Edmond Navratil (1910 - 1953) AKA “Louis & Lola”/”Titanic Orphans”
Michel and Edmond Navratil were the youngest survivors with the loss of a parent(s) on board. The two boys have a very interesting story. Their parents, Michel Navratil Sr. and Marcelle Navratil, seperated shortly prior to the infamous ship’s departure. Marcelle allowed the boys to stay with their father over Easter, but she became concerned when he had not returned with her children. Michel bought tickets for himself and his two young sons to immigrate to the US without Marcelle’s knowledge. During the sinking, the toddlers were placed onto Collapsible D. Mr. Navratil perished in the sinking of Titanic. The toddlers could not speak a word of English, so they were labelled the “Titanic Orphans”. Upon arrival to New York, Marcelle was contacted and came to New York to pick up her sons.
In later years, Michel spoke out about his experience on Titanic;
“I don’t recall being afraid, I remember the pleasure, really, of going plop! into the lifeboat. We ended up next to the daughter of an American banker who managed to save her dog–no one objected. There were vast differences of people’s wealth on the ship, and I realized later that if we hadn’t been in second-class, we’d have died. The people who came out alive often cheated and were aggressive. The honest didn’t stand a chance.” - Michel Navratil’s account of the sinking
The Destruction of the Grand Staircase serves as the metaphorical bastion of the death of the Titanic and its elegance.

Thomas watches as more boats are lowered and sees Margaret Brown - known the world over as the Unsinkable Molly Brown - as she is being lowered away from the bat deck aboard lifeboat #6.
Margaret Brown was extremely helpful during the sinking of the Titanic, helping other passengers into the boats and eventually leading to her protesting against Quartermaster Robert Hitchens when he feared the boat getting swamped by passengers in the water.
Regardless of the events Margaret Brown remains a true hero in the legend of the Titanic and is remembered as a woman possessed of great virtue and bravery.
I hope that this page shows only the realization on her part of the seriousness of the sinking.
Thank you so much for reading!

In memoriam to those who perished in the disaster to the Titanic, April 14th and 15th, 1912.
It was a fateful night over the North Atlantic. A night to remember the souls taken by the ocean. A night to remember those who perished, leaving behind unfulfilled dreams.
The stars shone brightly that cold night, as if they had never shone before. Despair and cries surrounded the place, and death wandered there, waiting for them. Because that night, money or social class did not matter. Everyone was equal, sharing the same fate: to perish in the sea.
And then the moment came when the screams and moans faded into the depths of the night, while the moon witnessed the fateful scene and illuminated the bodies floating on the icy waters of the North Atlantic.
What is death? They all left, and none have returned. People with dreams left behind.
Thousands of dreams lost.
Thousands of loves defeated by the sea.
On April 14th, 1912, the RMS Titanic hit an iceberg at 11:40 pm, popping open many rivets and allowing water to gush into the ship. 2 hours and 40 minutes later, she sunk at 2:20 am, taking 1500 people with her. 705 people were able to escape the sinking ship, and were picked up by the RMS Carpathia a few hours after the Titanic sank.

Boat Fact #16
On this day, 114 years ago, the Marconi wireless system aboard Titanic broke. Jack Philips and Harold Bride, the ships two wireless operators, then disobeyed standard procedure and spent 6 hours working to repair the system themselves. Something that would prove invaluable within the next 24 hours.
