The TENTH HOUSE MERCURY in Virgo that famed conductor-composer Leonard Bernstein had in his natal chart tracks SO hard with everything that I know about him! Tenth house is public-facing which gave him a natural perception of how to interact and communicate with others, and with his Mercury being in Virgo, that’s precisely the meticulous and detail oriented placement that one needs to excel at something like conducting.
Speaking of famous celebrity charts, Stephen Sondheim having a FIFTH HOUSE MERCURY is almost a little too on the nose for the guy who is “credited with reinventing the American musical” lmao
When one’s Mercury is nestled in the TWELFTH HOUSE, this creates a deep interest in learning about the hidden components, nuances, or other behind the scenes things associated with the sign that the Mercury placement is in. This is evident in George Lucas’s Star Wars saga, where he explores the darker side of Taurean themes such as greed and materialism. I also see this in Oscar Hammerstein’s work, since a lot of his musicals took Cancerian themes and explored the shadow sides of these themes or gave them more nuance.
James Cameron’s LEO MERCURY makes HELLA sense when you consider how dramatic and lavish his films tend to be. No other Mercury sign could’ve made Titanic (1997) as spectacular as it was 😭
When it comes to their academic or personal projects, SAGITTARIUS MERCURY natives often write WAY more than what they actually need to write.
My tutor has a SUN CONJUNCT MERCURY in Virgo aspect in his natal chart, which fits quite well with him being a tutor.
LEO MERCURY natives tend to have naturally loud voices, regardless of whether they’re inside or outside.
MERCURY CONJUNCT MARS natives, y’all need to be extra careful to not lose your temper when debating someone, especially if that topic is something that you are already passionate about.
MERCURY SQUARE URANUS individuals may have struggled with STEM subjects - particularly science - during their grade school years.
CANCER MERCURY might enjoy - and benefit from - writing old fashioned snail mail letters to people!
My 11th house is Virgoian, and Virgo is ruled by Mercury. For me, this means that the planet of friendships and basic human connection is nestled in my EIGHTH HOUSE STELLIUM, where it is conjunct my Saturn. I know I yap about my Mercury Conjunct Saturn aspect a LOT on here, but it’s such a treasure trove of information — with it being in the eighth house, it’s basically saying that I don’t do casual friendships or even acquaintanceships. I do all or nothing, transformative type friendships where the intensity is off the charts.
MERCURY OPPOSITE NEPTUNE tends to prefer literal, concrete ideas over abstract concepts.
ELEVENTH HOUSE MERCURY folks strike me as the type who thrive in group chats (lucky…)
MERCURY TRINE JUPITER natives might tend to use longer, more complex words in their writing.
THIRD HOUSE MERCURY excels in the field of journalism - my mom has this placement in Cancer, and she majored in journalism at her uni!
LIBRA MERCURY may do well with diplomacy and negotiations and/or potentially take an interest in international relations at some point in their life.
