This scene is everything to me. The emotions on Klaus’ face say everything. After all to these years Klaus still loves Caroline and I am honestly crying while looking at this photo. Klaus doesn’t trust Stefan enough to tell him so Klaus gives a evasive answer instead.
In the end of the TO episode Stefan says “I know you loved her once. I will do right by her.” meaning Caroline. The look of relief on Klaus’ face at just the thought of Caroline being taken care of, the second highlight of the crossover.
