"As I step into the piazza, a pleasant sound of flowing water catches my ears. The smell of a fresh rain lingers in the air. People murmur in a lazy voice, as if they have just awoken from a nap. Most of the people in the piazza are natives and don't look twice at the steps. From the top, I admire the cityscape and the only distraction is a diligent man trying to selling flowers."

MUSEO DELL' ARA PACIS

Built: April 2006

•contains the Ara Pacis of Augustus, "Alter of Augustan Peace". Dedicated by Augustus, the first emperor of Rome.

•The Museo was designed to be permeable and transparent in the urban context while keeping the monument, The Ara Pacis, safe from harm.

•It creates a completely enclosed environment, but is visually open to the outside to allow for the penetration of light and a connection to the outside.
