its true that crying wont solve things but we dont cry to solve. we cry to release
exam season reminders
you are worth more than your grades
sleep is super super important
take frequent breaks – get up, move around a bit, dance to your favourite song, have a nice snack
your grades don’t define you
mental health > exams
you are worth more than your grades
you are worth more than your grades
you are worth more than your grades
fact: to improve in language learning you have to be constant, speak with natives and practice almost - if not - everyday.
me, not speaking fluently my target languages after I reblog vocab lists and just keep saying how much I love them:
Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the amount of material that you have to go over before your final exams? Instead of studying you happen to be procrastinating because you simply don’t know where to start? Yup, we’ve been there. But we’ve learned that in such situations, the crucial thing is to have a study routine- once you’ve prepared it in advance, trust us, there won’t be as much to worry about. Here are a few tips that make this hectic exam season a little more bearable for us and hopefully will work for you too!
1. Have a designated study space Find out where you are most productive and study there. It can be a library, a coffee shop or your kitchen table- the exact location doesn’t matter as much as having a space that your brain associates with studying.
2. Know when you are most productive Not everybody is a morning person and so not everybody should start their studying sessions right after breakfast. There is no point in forcing yourself- if you know you are your most productive self in the afternoon, spend your mornings doing all the other chores so in the afternoon you can focus solely on studying.
3. Start the whole preparation in advance In order to study effectively, you should have all the things you need on hand- books, notebooks, highlighters, tablets, laptop chargers, snacks, water. And to achieve that, you should prepare in advance- think about what you might need and get it beforehand, in order to avoid breaks in your study sessions.
4. Set realistic goals Think about what you can achieve in general and how much of it you can achieve in a day. Try to do equal parts of material daily- this way it will be easier for you to get into the rhythm of studying.
5. Take breaks If you feel you are losing focus- take a break. Forcing yourself to study will do you no good and even a short study break can make you feel much more refreshed and ready for studying. We shared some study break ideas here- you might want to check them out!
6. Calendars are your friends We can’t stress that enough- planning is key! In order to have a good study routine, you must have a calendar, so you can keep track of all the deadlines, appointments etc. Get a calendar.
7. Get enough sleep Among all the exams and deadlines it is easy to immerse yourself in studying to the point of foregoing sleep- but that’s a mistake. In retrospect, pulling an all-nighter is never a good idea, as it simply leaves you less productive and more tired the next day. Your brain needs time to relax and so never forget to sleep!

never let yourself be put down because of how much you study.
you put more effort into your studies than others? that’s totally okay and does not mean you’re any less smart.
you were not as productive during the last few weeks as you normally are? that’s okay, everybody experiences that.
you enjoy studying, and it’s important to you? that’s really cool, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
you feel like you need a break? go ahead, you deserve it.
nobody should judge you based on how much you study, just as nobody should be able to change your self-worth because of that.
17 December: Officially finished with the semester. I haven’t posted any original content in over a month because of how chaotic school has been, and I’ve been waiting to get my design journal back so I can post sketches from it. For everyone still taking finals, best of luck!
18/02/17 || bag is packed, last batch of notes complete, o-week is planned. best of luck to everyone starting their first year of university like me! we can do it! :)

1/10/2017 5-week Winter Semesters are the best time to get GE’s out of the way. Reading hell, but this iPad and story annotation system is doing wonders for me.

Back to one of my favorite study spots ever. Haven’t been gere for almost a year since it became too crowded. But guess what? It’s as calm as it used to be. Yay!
