BIC: Jackson was a very confident person, he came from a too wealthy family and had in his mind “seen it all”, and the ritzy party he was currently wondering around, felt very repetitive to him. The house was lovely as any house owned by a family with money would be and whatever fundraiser they were currently sponsoring he was sure would be wonderful for some organization or other. Still, it all felt very mellow dramatic and the champagne in his hand bubbled in a mocking way, drink me, but it’s still all the same, you’re always bored. Downing his glass he skirted to another room with floors even more pristinely polished then the last. He hoped to grab another glass of bubbly from a different server, as not to cause rumors. After all he was too memorable a face. The Whittemore family since moving to this town, had become well known enough. His father was a lawyer and his mother a renowned doctor. People just didn’t forget people like that and even more so, they didn’t forget the ex, football teams poster boy. He cringed at the thought and wondered outside the house after grabbing another glass. He went through grand double doors leading to a screened in pool and bar area with an absolutely stunning botanical set up. But he was quite distracted. Jackson’s gaze had alighted on another male by the bar. Suddenly, his tired “seen it all” attitude fluttered away on the light breeze and he found himself striding confidentially towards the bar. He took another large swig of the champagne, his expensive Italian leather shoes making very little noise on the marbled tile. He leaned over the edge of the bar, knowing he hadn’t been noticed or heard and rather loudly proclaimed. “Rather drawl party isn’t it?” When the boy turned to him, he had to grit his teeth to keep from smiling like an idiot. He was downright one of the most beautiful people Jackson had ever seen..

The bar was crowded, to Jackson’s dismay, and the dance floor was even more packed. Girls and guys alike pumped hips and gyrated to the too loud music. He just wanted a drink, something to take the edge off. But he had to admit the crowd was somewhat comforting. his first real night out since he had broken up with his ex four months ago and the unfamiliar bar was anything but lonely. His ex had formed this new city into something for him. So getting out on his own felt almost surreal. Nothing the same without someone to smile at. Hell, He was 22 and he hadn’t been single in almost 8 years, it was time for him to meet new people out of their shared friend group. He honestly needed to get some, but tonight, he had decided when he’d ordered a simple porter beer, was about friendship and companionship. The ability to make new friends. Too bad things never really went according to plan…
