she didn't want to dwell on her parents who were stuck outside the dome right now. they weren't sure if they were even still alive. "well what they want and get are not the same thing. besides, it's healthy to keep them on their toes." she shrugged and kept sweeping "how are you after everything? that quake was a lot. how's lowe?"

the conversation about their parents passed and love resigned herself to the fact it would be a long while before lux would talk about them again. "family isn't a competition, lux. them competing for the title of lux's favourite cousin is a little much" she assumed that it was down to lux being the cooler sister that everyone wanted to be her favourite. hell, love wanted to be her favourite. there was something about her sister that made you want her approval. "i'm alright. i got a fright at the whole thing but i'm okay. you know lowe...i think she needed some time to herself to process. looking for supplies is therapeutic to her, i'm not going to stop that. how are you?"

lux briefly smiled at the memory of their parents. she wouldn't dare admit it, but she missed them. her dad especially. she always felt like the odd one out but he had accepted her for her. it became easier to avoid the conversation about them now to avoid upsetting her sisters. quickly changing topics she started sweeping "oh it was deny deny deny. otherwise it becomes a battle of what would suffocate me first, the sandalwood body spray or his inflated ego"

it was nice to see her sister open up, even if it was only for a brief moment in time. their parents were a sore subject and where love would talk, lux would close off. "you know the more you deny who's the favourite cousin, the more they want to be your favourite, right?"

"Fair enough, I mean cigarettes definitely sound better than cleaning." Meghan shrugged as she picked up a crystal. "He was up, mad at me. So decent, I would say."

"that's the lux way i guess, can't ever tell her what to do" she said while she continued sweeping "up and about is good, i'd hate for him to be injured. mad at you for what?"

"mom would have that stern look and dad would be joking around and making a more of a mess" she never understood why her sisters were so willing to tie their lives to the magic shop, but then again, she never understood what some people saw in the town as a whole. lux rolled her eyes at the mention of no smoking but nevertheless complied. "he was good. stinking up the place with his sandalwood body spray and claiming he's the favourite cousin, the usual"

"then she would eventually laugh because she could never keep a straight face when he joked around" she smiled, she missed her parents. they didn't talk about them a lot anymore. "him and that sandalwood spray" she laughed "did you confirm or deny if he was the favourite cousin?"

Meghan nodded her head. "Well, I hope she at least helped you." She looked around, surveying the damage. Also looking for anything she might want. "That earthquake had it out for Morrison businesses, I think. The record store nearly killed Ian."

"she helped sweep up a chunk of the glass and herbs, but you know lux, the minute you tell her she can't smoke in here she was out the door" she leaned against the counter "how is he doing? he gave us all one hell of a scare"

"you kidding? the place looks great! very... ah... abstract?" he offered, just barely hiding his cringe. the store was a post-shake shit show, no doubt. greg wasn't usually one to roll up his sleeves or anything but he'd walked right into this one. it had been, like, 3 years since they'd graduated high school but greg still felt a little awkward around her. after all, when it came to love... he'd been an asshole.

"anything i can help with?"

"you're trying to be nice to not send me into a spiral but we both know this is a disaster" there was no way to sugarcoat it. she hadn't seen the store like this since the great lux crash out of twenty twelve™️. love wasn't sure what to say around greg, she never had been, but it hadn't much improved since their graduation. it felt fitting that the two of them were standing on shards of broken glass.

"unless you've got the desire to help clean a store, there's not much to help with"

katie had almost successfully avoided love morrison since the dome came down. it had been years since she'd stepped a toe over the line drawn between them. katie had taken frederick's side - her sister's side - to be safe, to make sure that werewolves like her were safe. it had all gotten so messed up, though. and now... katie didn't know what to think. but then she saw love behind the broken glass of her parents' shop and her heart dropped. she was so full of longing for a life that had long passed them both, she could have screamed. without meaning to, she'd moved closer to the shop. and definitely without meaning to... she'd pushed open the door.

"nothing that can't be fixed, right?"

the last person that love expected to see walk through her families storefront was katie. a friendship that had long become a distant memory these days thanks to a town wide fight that neither of them had any desire to participate in, and the dome that put the literal line in the sand.

"i suppose. it's more the time it takes to fix it all is the issue. all the destroyed materials that can't be salvaged doesn't help either, inventory for certain items isn't exactly easy to come by"

"you can barely notice it. i mean there's just a teeny - teeny, tiny - little mess. minuscule," she added for extra emphasis, already reaching for a spare broom to help love with the clean up.

"i was going to ask if you wanted to go grab coffee but i can see there're a few things to clear up here first. and- oh. no, is that mugwort all over the counter?"

"right? i think if everyone that comes into the store just...like...closes their eyes, we'd be all good. do you think we'd get away with that?" it felt like she'd never get this place clean at this rate. "i would love to grab coff-" love turned to see mugwort indeed all over the counter "ah shit, i swear that that stuff is multiplying"

"hey... i think the new floor made entirely of - what? oregano? - looks awesome. and i definitely wouldn't lie to you when it comes to seasonings," hailie greeted with an uncharacteristically wide grin. it was always hard to feel down when you were around the beaming light of love morrison.

"you need a hand? foot? whole rack of bodies?"

"there's some sage in there as well, makes me want those sage and garlic snack bites lowe makes real bad. it's giving a whole new situation to saging a property" she chuckled and swept some more of the glass out of the way "you'll be stuck here all day if you help me. what kind of friend would i be if i didn't tell you to save yourself"

Meghan had been killing some time using any excuse to get out of the manor. She hadn't meant to go to the magic box, but she had just kind of ended up here after going to the record store. She walked in and was met by her cousin, Love.

"It does, your parents know it looks like this?”

love groaned at the thought of the scolding that she would get if her parents saw the magic box like in the state it was currently in "don't remind me, lux already said the same thing." she sighed, hiding her face behind her hand "they leave the magic box to us and of course an earthquake messes it up"

on her way home from visiting ian, lux saw the lights on at the family business. opening the door, she saw her baby sister hard at work.

"i sure hope so, otherwise mom and dad are going to have your head. is lowe not giving you a hand with this? here, give me the broom and you can start on the shelves"

"could you imagine? they'd go insane if this was the state lowe and i left this place in. and no smoking in here please, we don't need a fire on top of an earthquake" love handed the broom over to her sister and gave her a look of thanks that she was willing to help "she'll be out trying to get supplies in since we've lost a load of ours. how was ian?"

the magic box had taken a hit during the earthquake and the place was a mess. determined to try and get some semblance of order back in place, love had taken it upon herself to tidy up.

sweeping up broken glass and ruined herbs, she looked up when she heard the bell above the door chime and gave a smile

"i promise it normally looks way better than this"

Ian couldn't believe he was still alive. You can't keep a good dog down, huh? After the big shake - trademark pending - Ian thought forsure he was a goner. And that was okay, really. He did everything he could to make sure Ava got out of that rubble alive and she did. He didn't remember too much after passing out on that rebar, but Ava really did the whole damn thing.

Waking up, on and off, he'd been holed up in the supernatural injuries ward for a hot minute. Long enough for the mustache to make a comeback and definitely long enough to feel kinda gross. He was in the middle of layering on ten tons of body spray when he heard the door open behind him- "Oh! You've caught in a moment of absolute indecency. I hope you like the smell of sandalwood."

ian was her favourite cousin, not that she'd make that public. hearing that he'd been injured in the earthquake really shook her to the core. it was the first time she was met with the idea that there was a possibility that he wouldn't be around, and that just wasn't going to fly in her book.

her sisters and her had been rotating their visits, but love was the only one that was bringing everything and the kitchen sink in her handbag for him just in case he wanted something. she knocked on his door and it opened to a wave of body spray assaulting her nostrils

"ian, you're going to set the fire alarm off in this place. put the can down and step away"
