Let us figure out the basic steps of an awning installation:

Get the right tools

A beautiful awning will be of no use if the required tools are lacking. The below list will give everyone a fair idea of the tools that are must-haves for patio awning installations:

Tape measure

Drill and suitable drill bits

Ladder; a suitable one

Requited sockets and ratchet

Eye protection

A caulking gun and appropriate caulk

A helper mounting hardware

Take the correct measurement

Even a minor error can cause deep trouble. The two most crucial tasks are to find the center of the awning and the center of the door. People may follow the below steps so that the job becomes easier.

First, figure out the exact center of the door and mark it against the wall.

Then mark the correct center of the awning. Don't forget to mark it.

Next, measure the wireframe.

Now, people will need to get a measurement up from the ground around 74" to 84". This is needed for the bottom line of the awning.

Now, follow the marks made and hold the awning in place. Make sure that it does not restrict the movement of the door.

Install the awning

Put the mounting bar in the proper place. Make sure that mounting points and measurements are at level. Once sure, fasten the bar.

Now, move to the other end, Follow the same step.

Fasten other mounting bolts.

Now caulk the bar around the edges. It will stop insects and moisture from entering behind the bar.

Install the hardware

The awning needs support arms. First, attach the arms and camelback bracket. Find them mounted on the canopy rafter at the front of the awning. Then, put the head of the bolt on the outside. This way, people will save the fabric from getting torn.

Repeat the same step on the other side.

Now, homeowners must attach outer canopy rafters to the front edge trim. They will find this already installed.

Now, attach both the canopy rafters to the top trim.

Now, attach the center canopy rafter to the front trim and next to the top trim.

Final Installation

This step two camelback brackets by now, attach them to the opposite ends of the support arms.

Now, in the channel of the mounting bracket, mount top trim. Allow the awning to hang. The mounting channel will make it stay locked. Measure down from mounting trim to the point mentioned by the manufacturers.

Mount camel back brackets to the house.

Attach support arms to the camelback brackets.

Lock the back trim to the mounting trim with the help of a machine screw.

Voila! Your house looks beautiful.
