since it’s still on my mind i want to ramble about something in particular i thought felt a bit weird about rise of the titans

douxie almost didn’t feel like a character in rott. it kinda felt like he was written in as a plot tool first but then the writers forgot to put the rest of him in there. i’ve seen people in an uproar about how little regard the cast seemed to have towards him, most notably the scene where nari and douxie are forced back into their respective bodies, and this is essentially what i mean. it kind of feels like he was written in as an afterthought in some cases and they didn’t adjust the characters around him to respond accordingly. this is on top of the fact that he takes a backseat in most scenes altogether

stuff like this makes me wonder if rott’s writing suffered as a result of being in production at the same time as wizards, as if some things didn’t end up translating in the end

...does Douxie have a birthday?

Wasn't he, like, abandoned or an orphan before being 'taken in' by Archie then officially being taken in by Merlin? Does he even remember when his birthday is?

I feel like after a coupled of centuries he just... gave up and decided to not have birthdays. Heck, he may even start to not care ever since Merlin took him under his wing.

What if Merlin knew that Douxie didn't remember his birthday (through Archie) and just gives him a mini celebration on random days? It isn't extravagant or anything but it's still noticeable how Merlin is a bit softer and shows his appreciation for the boy more. Douxie never realized until pre-Wizards.

Now that Merlin's dead, the gang holds birthday parties for Douxie on random days. It's never a fixed date, they just celebrate whenever and it's FAR more extra than Merlin's subtle celebrations.

Hc that Douxie cried for 2 hours straight the first time the gang celebrated his birthday.

The movie reveiw

I'm pissed of course. ....

When you look at the movie from a Jim fan point of view it is fine it is perfect but if you don't really know Jim character and started with another series liking that character more and then watch troll hunters you like Jim just not as much

So when douxie switches souls with Nari

And the two are in a great deal of pain Jim only thinks of Nari everyone only thinks of Nari they only ask about Nari she's only relevant Douxie's pain is just ignored I think what hurts more in this scene is there's a literal doctor right there and she doesn't ask if he's OK

Only Archie cared

I feel like he was just used

To get the answers for the place

And after 900 years of pain suffering emotional abuse pain suffering war to get his staff that he worked his whole

It is just wiped away like a stain in Jim's plan

I mean it would've felt better if he at least talked to Douxie after the time travel but no
