"Actually I’m highly logical, which allows me to look past extraneous detail and perceive clearly that of which others overlook.”
A dark brow lifted above dark emerald eyes, adding a touch more to the woman’s already intimidating features. There was so much extra noise these days but perhaps there was one voice among the many that was worth the time to listen to.
"Now here’s someone I’ve never seen before," she stated, looking the other over with her discerning stare. "What brings you around here?"
The city was busy, and filled with insufferable people that seemed to have a perpetual look of disdain strewn across their features. Not to say that there wasn't pleasant people out and about, of course there was, especially with this being the capital and all. But all the men in ill-fitting suits and the women clicking passed her hurriedly -- well it was just slightly off-putting. Wendy fluffed her skirt, blowing out her cheeks before giving a bright smile," Let's hope the sun decides to be more present within the sky." She said aloud, though to no one in particular.
Sky light eyes shot over to the blonde woman, her eyebrows furrowing before returning to their normal positions. "I'm just visiting," She said with a meek shrug of her shoulders. " I must say though, the architecture really is quite something here. Some of the buildings are just so high."
Bye Bye Birdie || Jane & Wendy
"Oh really? Hmm…" Jane took the girls’ explanation into consideration before chuckling. "Ah, sounds about right for Magenta, could have very well been her." She admitted, smiling in amusement now.
"Oh, you would? That would be wonderful! I’d be very thankful if you could, and I’d return the favour, I-I promise!"
Wendy nodded adamantly, her laughter mingling with the stranger's. Her sculpted eyebrow arched at what she could only assume was the bird's name. "Why, what a funny name for a bird, unless it's pink. Then I suppose it would be rather appropriate. Is it pink in coloring?"
"Goodness, of course! Oh, there's no need to return the favor. You'll already be keeping me occupied on this misadventure for a bit; that's enough repayment."

"I would say that I that's the worst idea," Her words with kind with a soft expression to match it. "for I'd probably step on your toes. I've never been graceful in that stance. Believe me, the last party I went to I must have stomped on at least five of their feet. It was horrid. Absolutely and positively horrid. --- I'm sorry, I'm talking to much aren't I?" Wendy grew quiet, growing self conscious in the silence. "Your singing sounded lovely though."
"Does anyone have any book reccomendations? I've been trying to read something besides fairytales and books on banking -- exciting as they are."
Guests | Wendy and Rapunzel
It was rare for Rapunzel to take her title seriously, most of the time it was a passing comment for no other reason than it was expected of her. However, as soon as she saw Wendy’s shock she grinned with pride. Her hands came to her hips and she stood a little straighter for her.
Little girls were always her favorite. Boys were rough and always tried to prove themselves by fighting one another with wooden swords and dreams of knighthood; not that Rapunzel didn’t join once or twice. Girl were calmer, twirling in pretty dresses and pulling the princess along the streets to draw with chalk on the sidewalks. Wendy seemed to have both characteristics thought she was hardly a child anymore.
"Oh I understand, being cooped up in one place — looking at the same walls and the same faces can be rather… tiring. I didn’t always live at the castle but I only really had once face to look at, not including my own," Rapunzel had said it all in a teasing tone not wanting to scared Wendy but wanting to let her know she understood exactly what she was talking about.
"Pleasure is all mine Miss Wendy, its okay I’m not much for formal introductions anyway."
Wendy was in complete awe to be in the presence of royalty. It filled her with excitement and worry, as if every moment there was a large possibility of her doing something terribly wrong. Sure, she had been in the presence of royalty before with Tiger Lily and all, but that felt different. Not to mention Wendy had been all too concerned with whom the Neverland princesses affections were going to and not her status.
She brushed off her skirt, remembering all those times when she was younger that she opted to the pirate instead of the fair maiden. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be the princess who was always in need of her prince saving her, but with two brothers to entertain it was always much easier if she was something boy-ish as well. Sometimes that’s why she thought she was so accepting of all these new and expected things of herself — and sometimes that’s why she detested them.
Either the princess was going out of her way to console Wendy on this issue, or she had been in a similar situation before. Wendy was clever enough though not to focus on the morbid side of this issue, because who wanted to have a deep and meaningful conversation. She certainly wasn’t going to completely ignore it either, so she gave a warm smile. “Sorry you had to deal with that.” She said sympathetically. “Though it’s sort of comforting to know you’re not the only one who feels that way.” Wendy confessed. “Or has been in that situation.”
”Oh good,” Wendy let out a breath,” I was afraid I might have offended you or something.
Bye Bye Birdie || Jane & Wendy
"Urm, excuse me, but, par chance, has anyone seen a extremely annoying-I mean, lovely parrot, or heard it, for that matter? You can’t miss it’s aggravating-I mean unique screech.”
"My father is studying it so I need to get it back before he returns!"
"Now that you say something I didn't hear this horrid screeching noise this morning. Sounded almost as if some poor cat lay dying in the middle of the street." She looked up slowly, biting her lip as she played with the ribbon of her dress. "I unfortunately didn't happen to see it though.".
"I would not mind helping you look for it though. Especially if it is important to your Father."
His ears pricked contently as she understood that he had a name already, before bowing his head as she introduced herself. He had better manners than some humans, which was rather sad, come to think of it.
At the mention of food, the horse considered it briefly, and nodded once, but slightly shook his head as though to say, ‘Not entirely,’ to her second question. Max was already nodding again as she started suggesting possible foods, a bit more quickly at the mention of apples, before slowing again at the last items she listed.
Apparently he ate any or more than one of the four. But namely apples.
Wendy watched the immaculate horse bow with a small giggle running from her lips. "Oh, how very proper of you," She told him, curtsying in return, the remnants of the laugh still traced along her cherry lips. Her fingers clasped onto each other and hid themselves in the fold of her skirts. Up close and personal horses were quite large, she didn't want to do anything to frighten it.
Gauging the horse's responses she gave a nod toward him. "All right, we'll go in search for carrots and apples -- and not bread and butter." She turned twenty-five degrees, beginning to walk toward the market, motioning for the horse to follow, though she wasn't going to force it to.
Her own stomach growled as her brows rose," Perhaps I should buy an apple or two for myself . . ."
A Book for Two: Carolyn/Wendy
“Oh, so you’re a Carpenters kind of chick.” She said, not very impressed with Wendy’s music taste. “You should try listening to Alice Cooper, he’s really cool. Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Iggy Pop are, too.” Sighing, Carolyn glanced out the window towards the heavy snowfall, wishing that it would end. “I wish my family could’ve found a record company. Instead, we own this stupid town.”
Her brow furrowed," Like the kind that build houses?" Wendy inquired, tilting her head in confusion. She listened to the rattled off names, not recognizing one in the least, but she nodded despite it all. Mostly because she didn't want to further the conversation of music along. Wendy bit her lip," Your family owns the whole town?" She asked, bewildered.
“Well,” She said, drawing the word out as she walked out from behind the counter. “No, not every type. I mean, it’s impossible to have every type of flower in one bouquet, isn’t it? There are hundreds and hundreds.” She nodded for the girl to follow her, moving to the back of the store where they kept the rather larger bouquets.
“But we do have these!” She gestured encompassingly at them with a grin, turning back and crossing her arms. “Now, typical New Year’s colours are blue and yellow, which we have here. I’m assuming you are looking for flowers for New Years, right?”
She nodded, realizing her mistake with a silent 'oh' as her cheeks drew a light pink coloring to them. Wendy laughed in attempt to play off her mistake," Though it would be quite impressive wouldn't it? I mean, just the mere sight of it all would be breath taking, if just for the size." Wendy followed the girl, noting the odd coloration of her hair but not having enough gall to ask what had happened to it. So, instead, she pressed her lips together, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other.
Wendy's eye widened, they were all so pretty. And there was so many choices, almost too many. "Yes, I am. My families holding a party and we need about three or four bouquets, in yellow and blue coloring -- if that's the colors most often picked."
Walks around the shore // Aurora & Wendy
"Well it’s snowing there right now." Aurora laughed gently thinking back to her home. "You see, our kingdom is divided into four and has been for as long as anyone can remember. We rule southern Germany, in the mountains you see. We use the rivers and the wood there as our major exports, and wool. The people are lovely and so welcoming. If you’re hungry all you have to do is ask someone and they will gladly take you in." Germany would always be home, she loved her home. It was just right now if she hadn’t escape from the madness that was her home she didn’t know what would happen. Smiling at the compliment she looked down for a moment. "Thank you, it’s an odd name to be honest. Your name is lovely too, you have many names to go with it I heard."
Watching her sit in the sand Aurora remained standing, curling her toes in the wet sand and the cool water. Watching the vastness of the water she smiled as she watched the water crashed against the many rocks and she looked down at her. “Oh well then that makes much more sense. A woman doesn’t really travel too much on her own, even when I travel I travel with quite the entourage.”
"Ah - yes, the snow," She said with a knowing nod. It was the what seemed to hold together the holiday season, as well as ruin her perfectly good curls. Wendy nodded, thinking about how if Germany ever needed people to advocate to visit it, they should hire Aurora. She made this country -- a country that Wendy had never ever wanted to visit -- and made it sounds enticing, and wholesome. "You seem to have a deep love for your country," She stated, really she admired that . . . Wendy didn't think she could every love something like that. Unconditionally, with pride in it, and without questions at all. Maybe she did, at one point, possess that kind of potential for love, but she was sure that flame had been snuffed out with her twelve year old self and never rekindled. " Don't we all," She said with a shrug. "Well, it's certainly unique. Never before met another Wendy to this day."
"She should though . . . Make it a whole easier to find that sort of love they write about in fairytales," She commented lightly, a laugh trailing after the string of words. Wendy arched a perfectly sculpted eyebrow," Sooo, where is the entourage now?"

So Cold || Wendy & Cindy
Gladdened by her accepting, Ella began to lead the way. “Oh yes, born here and have lived here for all my life. Recently I have been traveling but came back just after the holidays once I could. Some of the roads were covered in snow or ice, sometimes both.” She shook her head remembering one of the ghastly stories a driver once told her of his horse stepping on a hidden patch of ice. The poor thing had to be put out of its misery.
"What of yourself? Your accent tells me you are from somewhere else, so what brings you to France?" She knew France was a destination for lovers, most unofficially dubbing the country - and its capital - as the most romantic place to be, but the girl didn’t look to have a husband, unless she was wrong of course. The lack of a ring only made her assume she was unmarried, and anyone courting her surely wouldn’t have her walking in this cold alone? No, she must be single and visiting family or friends. "Here we are." She pointed to the building, the first floor being her shop and the second her living space.
Wendy followed the blonde haired girl, her shoes clicking on the ground beneath her. "Have you? Hm, I must be wonderful," She cooed, her bias for the city showing clearly now. Her eyes drank up the architecture and her ears took in every inclination of the girl's accent, she studied these things as if she might be tested on it later, as she didn't want one ounce of culture to slip by her. It was all too glorious to be forgotten. "Snow and the cold are awful," She concurred. "We get loads of snow in London -- and after a while you begin to realize what rubbish the flakes of white are."
She was sure she had mentioned her purpose for being her, but apparently that wasn't so. Wendy must have gotten this confused with the other introductions she had done lately. "My Father's a banker, here on business, very mundane really. I'm from England - London specifically." Brushing her skirts, she looked up at the shoppe with a bright smile," Looks lovely." She complimented. "You live here by yourself? Or do you have a husband whom also dwells here?" Truthfully, it was quite tiny for two people -- least it appeared to be so.
London Ladies || Marian & Wendy
Marian could only grin sympathetically at the boy’s situation, as well as the lady’s. She clearly did not approve, but the maiden understood more than anyone the idea of duty and doing what needed to be done for the betterment of the family over personal choice of occupation or lifestyle. That happened to be the very reason that she was in London in the first place, after all, and though she would readily admit her dislike for the situation, she felt it necessary if she was to live a noble life within the stone walls of the castle and properly looked after the people that she so desperately cared for.
"Well, I pray then that he finds happiness elsewhere and that this occupation will prove to be useful, even if it is not from the production of joy." Marian gave the girl before her a reassuring grin, which broadened into a friendlier, playful smile as she sought to lighten the conversation. "My name is Marian by the way," she added with a small bow of her head, "should you wish to know the name of the thief of your parcel."
Wendy tried her best not to snort, but was ultimately unsuccessful. There was a lot to be said about Micheal and John Darling -- and some of it was quite impressive, but this aspect of them was not. They were unopinionated boys whom could have all they wished for in the world, status, respect, a decent job, all within their grasp -- things Wendy could not attain unless she married into it. Despite all these factors though, and the advantages they had, they remained content with mediocrity. John once courted a girl for weeks, only to wake up and declare that he never liked her at all. "I doubt it." She told the stranger bluntly.
Yes of course, where were her manners? Wendy gave an apologetic smile, almost as if she was sorry the girl had heard her speak the truth about her kin. Truthfully she wasn't, but this wasn't exactly get-to-know-you conversation. "Pleasure to meet you Marian," She parroted, giving a half-curtsy in respect to the woman. "I'm Wen -- Oh, goodness! You're not a thief at all! If anything you saved the parcel from some clumpy banker's shoes."
In Another Time
London. How he had missed the great city. No thanks to the queen of course, but that didn’t bother Hook as he crossed through the town, his sharp blue eyes taking in everything. He had passed through archives of history in museums, saw art and how it had evolved over time.
The sky above was rather gray, and he had dressed lightly to blend in, and not look overly obvious. He hadn’t changed his hook for something however not so lethal, and as he passed through the residential blocks headed for an infamous Kensington Gardens, his eyes catching the old styled architecture of the English homes, but didn’t really slow as he passed through and entered the gardens.
"Now Micheal you mustn't ignore your studies. You're lucky that you have every advantage . . ." Her lecturing when on like this, with her delicate porcelain hands moving in time with her every droning words. Wendy's brown hair was curled firmly and had been pulled up into a ponytail reminiscent of that of when she was younger, her posture, clothing and vernacular said differently though. They all screamed of her grown-up-ness. Her posture was rigid and all too proper. From her mouth came a flurry of complicated, long words, half of which she didn't know the meaning. And holding it all together was the corset, cinched tightly around her waist, and her light, fraying gown nearly covering her shoes.
Whilst passing by Kensington Gardens her blue eyes caught upon a figure that made her stomach drop. "M-m-micheal," She stuttered, placing her hand upon his shoulder, trying to give a reassuring smile. "Perhaps you should head home ahead of me, I'd like to admire the gardens for a moment or two." He nodded as she slowly entered the gardens. "I must be imagining things," She told herself with a curt nod. That had to be it. Yes, she was imaging things from a nightmare in which she did not live anymore.
"Eh -- Hello?" She called out, her voice rising toward the end of the word. Perhaps she truly was alone . . .
