Roughing out some thumbnails for CGs. Sometimes it’s intimidating to like think about how much art will have to be made, but like honestly? I used to do comics semi regularly, and like, if we keep the style relatively simple then it’s not that much more effort than a comic panel. I feel like more kind of simple CGs are better for the sort of story we’re telling than one or two really fancy ones... (Though I feel like a really fancy magical girl CG or two is obligatory)

I'd fallen behind on updating this blog, but progress has been going okay! With one exception, all the base sprites are done (and already iterated on a couple times to boot). Andrew's been tasked with formatting the script in Renpy and that's been moving along alright, so we should have a beginning to end playable version soon (minus bells and whistles)

After that, the next set of tasks is contacting the people we'll be commissioning for music and backgrounds, and also minigame stuff. Our loose goal is to get it out by the the of the year (though I always hate tempting fate by announcing due dates haha)

I'm also making a goal of posting about progress more regularly haha 😬

Working on some rough UI stuff! We’re thinking about doing multiple styles of textboxes depending on the situation, but I kind of like the scroll sticking around the whole time 🤔 Maybe we’ll swap out the decoration on the left side as things change.

My visual novel project, It Was Always About You, is getting ever closer to having stuff that I can show off! Here’s a comic I did in celebration of New Years Eve. And incidentally the birthday of the main character, Hotaru Yang.
