My visual novel project, It Was Always About You, is getting ever closer to having stuff that I can show off! Here’s a comic I did in celebration of New Years Eve. And incidentally the birthday of the main character, Hotaru Yang.

It Was Always About You is a visual novel about loneliness, chess, and using magic to defeat monsters. Follow the dev blog ( @itwasalwaysaboutyougame ) if you like magical girls, gay stuff, and/or stories about characters who are trying to improve themselves (even though they keep messing up).

A card game about conversations - and how you don't want to be in them

AKA: ‘Social Anxiety, The Card Game’

A couple of months late, but here’s a link to a game that I worked on for PIGSquad’s March Tabletop Jam! It’s a print-and-play card game about conversations and trying to get out of them.

The jam was good! In playtesting and showing off the game, people commented that some of the ‘faux pas’ cards actually felt punishing in a way that made them feel anxious. Which was kind of intended, so we’ll take it!

You Can't Dodge Your Feelings! by Autumnotopia

You can avoid a lot of things, but not matters of the heart! A short visual novel.

I finished an entry for Ludum Dare 41! This was my first time working more or less without a team ( @meidoadventure made me the sprites for the main character, but I did all the organizational/coding/writing/etc work on my own).

‘You Can’t Dodge Your Feelings!’ is a three minute visual novel about a girl confessing to her crush. Are you tough enough to follow your heart? (PS, it’s totally playable in-browser, no download required~)

I’ve had an idea for a little 3d horror game so I figured I’d finally start to learn a little bit of Unity. Hard to capture in video but I think driving feels good so far!

Working on some character sheet/card ideas for the tabletop murder mystery game I’m working on. I just finished my second campaign of it, so I’m working on a new set of revisions! I think I’m getting a lot closer to something I can officially write up now.

My internet went out Thursday, and just came back on today. Got the bare bones for one of the minigames fleshed out, but otherwise haven’t made a ton of progress. Coding without being able to look things up is hard haha

Despite unfortunately timed sickness, I got down the dialogue and narration system for my game. Nothing super impressive, but still necessary. Tomorrow is probably going to getting graphics stuff implemented I suspect. (Not drawn, that involves getting out my tablet which is always a pain so I’m putting most art stuff off for a little bit at least oops)

o: What system/language is everyone using? I figure RPG Maker seems the most popular, but I’m sure there’s a few outliers haha?

Finally sat down and did some solid concept work for my Pixel Horror Jam entry. I think I've scoped a little small, which means come submission time I'll only be slightly short on time >wo

A possible socializing UI compiled by @autumnotopia, showing off the potential designs for the main character and Wimpy and a potential style for the talk sprites.

This is obviously a really rough concept! Consider the ham hands an ode to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, another game about the bonds of friendship.
