SPOILERS FOR BFDIA 23!!(to those who haven't watched it yet)
I LOVED PENCIL IN BFDIA 23 (yes yes i know im obsessed with pencil shut up)
SHE WAS SUCH A CUTIE ESPECIALLY DURING THAT ONE SCENE WITH NEEDLE WHERE
She told Needle that the whole "winning for herself" thing wont work out for her
She also tells her that she cant win the game if she pushes away the people who want to help her (which goes hard for me as a Pencil kinnie and for Pencil herself whenever I think of TPOT Pencil and that makes me so. damn. proud. of her character)
She asks about why Needle wants to win, listening to her reasons and empathizing with her, even agreeing with her, but also telling her the downside (the part where she says, and I quote "Yeah, but then you're like, all alone. That's no fun!" ASKJAKSJAKSJAKSJAKSAKJSAKSJAKJAK PENCIL ILYSM)
Pencil also tells her that the very reason that she made FreeSmart was to have friends in the game (in Pencil's very own words: "You can have allies- no, FRIENDS in the game, y'know?" )
BUT, despite all of that, she doesn't deny Needle's feelings and says that she's doing fine on her own, and tells her to imagine how great it would be to win with friends, and reassures her that there's nothing wrong with being a little needy
When Needle says that she's already so far behind and that she wont be able to win the challenge, Pencil says that's the complete opposite of what she meant. She tells Needle (and I quote) "If you're not gonna do my challenge for your sake, then do it for mine! I'm owed a redo of that challenge!"
Needle then sighs and asks what Pencil's challenge is, which is very simple: To walk around her WITHOUT tagging the Supervan, where Needle asks: "What? That's it?" with a look of surprise and a grin on her face
Pencil says, "Yup. Technically TB and Book also finished, but they didn't stay for their reward. SO its all on you!"
Needle simply does as she's told and Pencil rewards her with a ride in the FreeSmart Supervan to drive her to the next challenge.
Needle then slaps Pencil a few minutes later for calling her "Needy"
Alright, that's all I have to say. Actually there's a few more scenes after that but that's already going a bit off topic. Anyways, thanks for reading my silly little yap about Pencil and the topic of friendship and stuff. I might put in some screenshots if I can (once someone releases the episode on Spotify bc I'm not allowed YouTube) I'll also add the tags later bc I still haven't finished the episode and I have other things to do like read Paint Cans on Wattpad and Hall 17 (along with my friend's fanfic) on AO3, I still have to print some PJSK stamps later.
