Disclaimer: I didn't readed the book neither watched the movie, just watched internet reviews!!!

I was thinking about how Ganymede tale suffered from Lolita Effect(not the book "The Lolita Effect" way), like, Lolita was book who initially was supposed to call out CSA, grooming and precoce sexually active at teenage years, but adaptations(especially the movie) distorted to be a sappy love just with a age gape(incluinding age up Dolores and make her flirty), mewhile Ganymede myth was originally to explain his origin as cupbearer, was distorted to be CSA/Pederastia justify(Elite Pov)/calling out and then distorted again to be a sappy love with age gape(including age up Gany and make him flirty)

I am kinda convinced that Ganymede myth turned out like a male/2000's yaoi version of Lolita 😭😭😭💔💔

Edit: I also reminded that both got transformed in terms like, Dolores to Lolita that would be attractive precoce sexually pre-teen girls, and Ganymede to Catamitus, that would be either for male (sexual) concubines or (much) younger male on the male-male relationship
