"CYPRIA 8: THE SACRIFICE OF IPHIGENIA"

Agamemnon kills a deer sacred to Artemis and boasts of surpassing her, and her enraged winds trap the fleet until Calchas reveals that only Iphigenia's sacrifice will appease the goddess. Agamemnon lures his daughter to Aulis under the pretense of marrying Achilles, and despite a moment of regret, presses on after Menelaus reminds him the gods have already spoken. Iphigenia refuses Achilles's offer to defend her, choosing to face the altar with courage, and as her throat is slit the winds calm and Artemis accepts the sacrifice, securing Agamemnon's command. The fleets set sail at once, leaving Clytemnestra inconsolable on the shore, vowing that she will never forget this betrayal.

I have a really hard time sticking to a constant art style. I tend to get more and more realistic the more I work on something, but I don’t have the skill to make everything look realistic (especially hair and clothing). Do you have any advice for being consistent, especially when trying a new style?

I don't really have any advice. I use a lot of references of real drapery and statues. Academic works are very helpful, and they can be stylized later.

I just want to say I ADORE your Odysseus design - like this is the closest someone has gotten to how I imagine him in the actual Odyssey. I also love that you give him ever so slightly red hair, because I searched it up and apparently he was described as having blonde/reddish-brown or "Xanthos" hair which is pretty cool! Anyway, I just adore how you make him wet cat, but also a very buff man who fought in a war🤯 Seriously, I've seen so much twink Odysseus it's not even funny
