i want to talk about what corn does to your work ethic because i think this is one of the most practically devastating and most personally shaming consequences of corn addiction and the people experiencing it have been calling themselves lazy for years when lazy has nothing to do with it.
you were not born without drive.
you remember having drive.
you remember being the person who could sit down and work. who could push through when things got hard. who started things and finished them. who felt the genuine satisfaction of earned achievement.
that person did not disappear because you got older or more comfortable or less ambitious.
that person was neurologically suppressed by corn.
here is the actual mechanism.
work ethic depends on a healthy relationship between effort and reward. the brain must be able to feel that the reward of achievement is worth the cost of the effort required to get there. this is a dopamine function.
corn depleted your dopamine receptors.
the rewards of real work — progress, achievement, completion, success — now generate dopamine signals too weak for your depleted receptors to feel properly.
the effort required feels enormous.
the reward feels insufficient.
so the brain resists the work.
not because you are lazy.
because the neurological math no longer works in favor of effort.
starting a task requires motivational activation energy. a dopamine signal strong enough to overcome the inertia of not doing.
corn depleted your activation energy completely.
you sit in front of the work and feel unable to begin.
not because you are afraid.
not because you do not want to.
just because the neurological ignition system is running on empty.
you find something easier to do first.
the minutes become hours.
not procrastination as a character flaw.
neurological ignition failure as a consequence of dopamine depletion.
the pushing through problem.
even when you manage to start the ability to push through difficulty has been compromised.
corn trained your brain to eliminate discomfort immediately.
real work is uncomfortable. important work is especially uncomfortable.
and corn trained brain refuses the discomfort that productive work requires.
you stop at exactly the moment the work needed the most from you.
projects abandoned at 70 percent.
plans written but never executed.
intentions never followed through.
every uncompleted thing adds another data point to the subconscious file that says you cannot finish what you start.
which makes beginning the next thing harder.
which corn is ready to fill.
the cycle closes completely.
your work ethic was not deleted.
and suppression ends when the cause ends.
the drive is still in there.
