Daken was in no mood for company. That seemed to be a reoccurring theme throughout his life, but was especially true now. With the whirlwind that his life had become ever since the blip hit, he was becoming more and more of a recluse by the day. The world seemed so much more dull with everyone either missing, or in mourning for their missing loved ones. There was no fun to be had by playing off otherâs emotions, since everyoneâs emotions were already so high. Daken had ran away, going back to Japan for a while, before starting on his quest to finally hunt down and Kill Romulus, which was ultimately unsuccessful. All of this should have made him reflect on his life and who he wanted to be, but it was so much easy to just turn off his emotions. Accept that he fucked up, and because of that, no one wanted anything to do with him. His train of self-pity and wallowing was interrupted with a knock to the door, Daken was about to get up and answer the door, when he heard Loganâs voice travel through the cheap wood; making Daken stop before opening it. The last thing he wanted to do was open up the metaphorical can of worms that was the topic of Itsu between the two of them. But, Logan wasnât going to leave without getting what he wanted, and probably already knew Daken was there. Daken opened the door slowly, just enough to put his body in the door, but not enough for Logan to have an insight into his life. âWhatâs today?â
It hadnât surprised Logan that his son hadnât opened the door all the way. Though, what did surprise him was that he was greeted as calmly as he was. It almost worried him and Logan began to wonder if Daken was alright. Logan wasnât the best at treading lightly; though he wanted to try to prolong this calm state as much as possible. Itsu was a difficult topic between them to be sure. Though after spending the last five years reconnecting with her again, he knew Daken deserved to have something to connect with her as well. He didnât fault Daken for losing track of the days, it happened to Logan all the time. This day, this moment, had been on his mind for months. âIts Motherâs day kid.â He responds before looking down at the silk wrapped item in his hand. While he tried not to, he gives a little sigh as he holds it out to his son. âDonât know why, but, she really liked this thing. Played it a lot when she was uh; well, when she was pregnant with you.â It was an ornate music box compact case. Logan had been playing it nearly non-stop lately. Considering Dakenâs feelings and actions regarding Logan in the past; Logan had decided to leave out some details about the item and its importance to him. Including the fact that it was the gift he gave to Itsu when they found out she was pregnant. Besides, it was Motherâs day after all, it was about her and not him.Â
