If the neuro-chemical impulses when we're dreaming or hallucinating are indistinguishable from what we experience when those things are actually happening, how are we to know if what we perceive is real or fantasy?

Depression is wild,
Especially as a child.
Didn't think you would make it this far. Always hoppin' bar to to bar. Now suddenly you're grown, responsibilities of your own. What are you to do? Do you break or make it through? 27 years, that's what I am but don't even want to be here. Every day provides different challenges in it's own way. Do I continue to just skate? Or do I finally escape?
I'm constantly torn between my love for all of humanity and my overwhelming sense of distrust caused by all that have taken advantage.
But... That's not what means.. "Hold your horses"
Two years ago my life forever changed. It was a typical day off, taking a break from the harsh realities of this adult life. Doing what most would do with a moment of freedom, I opened my web browser, completely unprepared to have my mind blown. I was 25 years old and suddenly I felt once again like a small child having to relearn the world around me as I read, then fact checked, that originally when someone said, "Hold your horses", they weren't telling you to calm down or slow down. They were telling you to, "Be stable". Okay, so maybe it wasn't that serious.
But... That's not what that means.. "Star-crossed Lovers"
Star crossed lovers, sounds so beautifully poetic. This elegant turn-of-phrase is used in movies, books, tabloids, poems, all in the same context. Two people so madly in love that they must be destined to be together. So, you're probably wondering, "What's your beef, Slim Jim?" Well... Let's take a look at the term "Star-crossed". What do you think it means? Destined? Meant to be? Nope. Not quite. "Star-crossed" means to cross out the stars, death of the stars, when used in terms of people it means fated to death. therefore "Star-crossed Lovers" means Lovers fated to die. Shakespeare uses the phrase in Romeo and Juliet to remind the audience that this isn't a lovely fairy tale with a happy ending; rather it's a terrible tragedy.
