Prologue

Octavia Alexander, age 31, tragically passed away on September the 6 of 2026. Octavia ‘Via’ was born in 1990 on June 12 to Velma and James Alexander. She lived in New York until 2000 when she and her family moved closer to Velma’s family in Knoxville, Tennessee. Via was 14 when she was accepted to MIT. At 16 she was recruited to work for Shield. Via revolved her career around being an engineer and inventor, something she wanted to be since she was a little girl. Via was very successful in her life as her work had her all round the world. At 20 she was asked by Tony Stark to show off one of her inventions at the Stark expo in 2010. She was recruited by Stark Industry for her work.

Via was the eldest child of Velma Alexander nee Elliot and James Alexander the III. She and her sister Taylor were thick as thieves protecting each with fierce love. She loved to spoil her younger brother James the IV with whatever new toy she would invent for him.

Via never stopped learning and earned several degrees. She was not only a Technical Engineer but she was also a Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Chemical, Aerospace, and a Computer engineer. Via reasoning for all that she did was in hopes to better the world. She didn’t care about the popularity or the press. All she wanted was to better our lives and that she did simply with her presence.

In 2016, She married her husband Grant ‘Steve’ Rogers. The two were madly in love and never stray far from one another. Grant always referred to Via as his Gal in the chair. Unfortunately Via was blipped shortly after the premature birth of their twins. Their twins Thomas and Theodora passed away a few months after the blip.

She was preceded in death by both her grandparents, her mother, father, brother, sister, her best friend and her sons and daughter.

Her hobbies included swimming, building and cooking for the community. She was known for her selfless behavior and for never giving up on life after all it put her through.

Via is survived by her husband Grant Rogers and her son Benjamin Alexander.

She will be remembered for her love for her community and her husband. She will be remembered for all the work she had done while on earth.

March 10 1917 was the day that James Buchanan Barnes was born.

March 10th 1924 was the day that Bucky met Steve for the first time. It all started when Bucky and his mom went out to the park to enjoy their ice cream, when a boy accidentally bumped into them.

March 10th 1935 was The day that he and Josephine spent the whole day in bed together.

March 10th 1946 was the last birthday buck had before he was captured by Hydra.

March 10th, 2018. Ayo came to collect him. This process, this trial that he had to do to successfully free himself from hydra clutches was draining. Once it was all over everything would hurt physically and mentally. He just didn't want to do it today.

"Do we truly have to do this today? It's my birthday. I truly would like to rest as a gift." He pleaded.

They continued to walk until they reached a large set of doors where Ayo nodded at the two Dora Milja that were guarding. The door was open and there stood the royal family.

"Happy Sergeant Barnes," Shuri saids with a smile.

"Yes, Happy birthday Mr. Barnes." T'Challa said, nodding.

"Happy birthday James and May Bast bless you on your day." Queen Ramonda said coming up to Bucky. She brought her hand up to Bucky's cheek very clearly broadcasting her movements. She held her hand there for a moment before wrapping Bucky in an embrace. It was a nice feeling to him.

"Come now we prepared a feast for your special day. And don't worry about anything else, today it's just for you. Will do whatever you feel like doing." Shuri said taking a seat

"Also Mr. Rogers apologizes for not being able to make it."

"Maybe things would be all right," Bucky thought.

March 10 2025. Bucky could feel Sarah's lips on his neck.

"Happy birthday Bucky!" She whispered.

"How did you-" Bucky didn't remember telling anyone about his birthday.

"You do realize your birthday is public knowledge." Sarah said as she got up off the bed. She held her hand out towards him as if to signify that he has to get up as well.

He grabs her hand and sits up and tries to pull her back to bed. But Sarah tugs on him just as well and he gets up.

Once they make it downstairs, Bucky sees that the table is covered with food. There's a banner and balloons. He also says Cass and AJ sitting at the table with big smiles.

"Happy birthday Uncle Bucky." The boys said unison.

AJ proposed that he and Bucky would be father and son and play in the Father son kickball tournament. His other present from AJ was baseball cards, ones for current time and ones from his time. Cass gave him a necklace that had a picture of the four of them. Sarah gave him beautiful handmade butterfly knives. That was the most shocking out of all the gifts

Was I like the only person who saw Ruby's mom being really protective of her? But I didn't see her being a control freak. I thought it was her trying to keep the situation from Ruby. Like her wanting to continue to have the party and not talk about death in front of Ruby. I think it was her trying to keep Ruby as a child as long as possible. Like people are saying that she's horrible but she was scared. Children were dying all around her and they had no idea if Ruby would be next. While her father wanted Ruby to know to be aware, her mother didn't and understandably so. Ruby's mother was scared so was her father. They both had no idea of what was going on. And I think Ruby's mother didn't want to frighten Ruby herself.

So for y'all to call her abusive I don't understand. Or to say that she's unforgivable she's not. She wanted to keep Ruby away from what was happening as long as possible. How do you explain to a child that all children around them are dying and that they might die as well one day. Like as a mother as a parent, how do you do that?

She's not a horrible parent. She was trying to protect her child.

Blood Like Magic Entry

I have finished chapter 6. This time I have no words.

It's not that it's left me speechless. It's just I don't know. It's like a filler chapter. You still need it because it gives you information and it probably holds something that I'm going to look back and find out once I finish this book.

She manages to put out for sources so that Keis can get her scholarship.

It's just after chapter 5 and 4. I don't really like with all that went down and how I just don't have anything. Put in the new character Rowan whose gift is honey tongue which I have no idea but I guess she's a smooth talker.

So here on February 26th 2020 I started and finished chapter 6.

At the beginning of the chapter we see Mama jova's death with Voya. The scene starts off with a young Mama Jova who is 16 years old. Mind you we are learning about her painful death and she was 16. So yeah this Jesus and it only got worse than that.

I get why Mama Jova called out for her. From the beginning of the book for voya has been described as indecisive. That she struggles with making decisions.

See Mama jova's struggle and her death. Her painful death. It starts with her and another slave, who are both around Voya age, being tied to a tree. The Master comes and begins it's to whip Mama Jova. He continues and continues and as he does the other slave, the boy weeps and cries and agony even though they have not laid a hand on him.

When he finishes he tells them that he has a deal. He asked Mama Jova who stole from the kitchen. She doesn't speak. He whips her again and again. She still doesn't speak. Not a word, not a peep. Until finally he gets tired of whipping her and chooses another option which is to shoot the other in the head.

Mama Jova reacts by using her abilities beyond the bandwidth, the limit for witches and kills The Master and all the men along with him. She tells the others to run some do but some don't. And when the scene ends the visual that Voya has to watch tragic scene that Jova had live.

Mama Jova tells voya that. Yes She knew who stole the food. And that yes it was the other slave whose name was David. She love David and she didn't want to give him up. No matter the pain. She had no idea what would happen if she gave him up. She didn't know whether to take the blame or to give him up. He didn't know if the master would kill David regardless of who took the blame. She was scared and so she didn't say a thing. Didn't know what to do so she didn't say a thing. Mama Jova chose to attempt to spare David but not telling her master the truth and it didn't matter that she would pay the price.

And this is why I think Mama Jova chose for you because voya cannot make a decision to save her soul. Voya admitted herself that she could make these choices and decisions when it came for her family, but when it came for herself she had no idea.

David was Mama jova's love. She loved him. He loved her.

I do believe in some sadistic way Mama Jova is trying to force voya to be decisive. And yes I say sadistic because family Magic solely relies on if Voya succeeds in her calling.

I have just finished chapter 4. And oh Voya is so doomed.

If I was for you at the moment I would have saw a Mama jova I would have got my ass off that table and left. For those that don't know, Mama jova is the one ancestor that will change the rules and give you a hard ass task. The last person to get her failed and was banished from the family.

So as I said it before the moment I would have saw Mama jova I would have left. Especially with the self-esteem that voya has. Would have did the damn well. Sorry I failed. Wouldn't even pay attention to the task at hand. I would have just go ahead. Let me out.

And I think what irritates me about Mama jova and I don't want to irritate her upsetter is that she does that shit because of what she went through because her introduction as a character is before Voya even sees her, all she can hear is the crying the whimper.

Another thing that just throws me off about her is that when The one day their ancestors will show themselves. Some will be joyful and dancing around, not Mama jova She cries and I quote with a fierce expression like she's planning revenge at a funeral.

Mama jova is notorious for making s*** harder on them to the point where the last Thomas to fail this. She was the one that handed the task. Mama jova's description also talks about the wounds on her whipped back still freshly bleeding in the afterlife.

And when she turns to look at Voya it's describe as the way that a predatory animal. Would you know what Mama Jova I give up. I don't want to gift. I'd rather not be a witch.

And it kind of feels like Mama jova does this out of anger and pain and spite and wanting to transfer everything she feels onto her descendants for what. Is it to prove they're worth? I don't believe this. So is it the show that they're strong? I don't believe so. I mean I get that the harder the test the better the gift. But Mama Jova are here is known for terrorizing people so.

The family household name be damned because there is no way I complete a task from this woman. The girl that failed mama drove us task was because Mama Jova told her to walk across a thin bridge and Wimberly. The girl that failed said that magic wasn't worth her life and would not do it.

And one Voya has no courage in herself that she would even complete a task and now getting Mama Jova. I think she feels the same way that I feel at this moment. Like she was literally pleading for it not to be mama Jova.

So yeah that masterpiece of a chapter. Ultimately feel bad for Voya.

I finished the third chapter. I think we've got a love interest and if I can remember the summary she supposed to kill someone to attain her gift. Also another trans character which is neat. This book's got a futuristic setting and it's quite nice.

Although voya thinks her love interest is a jackass She still attracted to him. It's not completely off-putting to her which is new for me. And at one point in the chapter you can say that she kind of feels a little sympathy for him and understands why he is that way so. Also neat that she tries to understand him and it's behavior with little she knows about. And what little she knows comes from reviews because people get reviews.

Also a new thing with the futuristic setting

This event which voya meets Luc her love interest I believe is an event that she brought case to so that case could have better opportunities for university. Which is virtually impossible for them. And even though she thinks that the moment she had planned out for Keis to show her ass had failed, she still managed to give Keis that opportunity.

Although she dreads Luc being her love interest, I generally think it's going to work out somewhat. She believes that his behavior is because he has a lot of stress on him, even with the little that she knows about him even with him being an ass her in the beginning. She still believes he's good. Not like in a naive way. It's just like in a way of kind of like Captain America giving them the chance to be a decent human being.

So on February 25th, 2022, I had begun chapter 3 and here on February 26th, 2022, I have finished chapter 3.

I finished the second chapter and I still confidently say that yeah it's a hell of a book. So far we learn that Voya has a friend that went missing and that her family refuses to help find because of witch politics. Basically impure and pure families do not mix.

Even though she tries to deflect from talking about her calling, everyone pushes her to think about it and to try to prepare for it even though she wants nothing to do with it. I like her friend Lauren who wanted to be remembered. She doesn't because she believes that if she is remembered, it's for being one of the first in a while to fail the calling.

I also like how the author wrote in a trans character. It's different then what I typically see. There was no that this character used to be this gender. They had simple things that let you know. The character was trans but the real key part that confirmed was when they stated that from then on we use preferred pronouns. Even when they're talking about the character before transitioning, they still use their preferred pronouns, which I think is neat because I don't see that often. Then again I rarely get to see a trans character in books so.

Overall I dislike her uncle. Her granny is pushy like the rest of her family and story is going great.

Okay so I decided to do a new thing to encourage myself to finish books and the only thing I can think of are book diaries where I basically give my thoughts on books as I progress.

Today I started a new book which is Blood Like Magic by Liselle Sambury. I have just finished the first chapter. The first chapter kind of reminds me of encanto. So far I can say that I love it. That I am really excited about it. Now this might just be the dopamine talking and I might drop it within two to three days but it's got me hooked.

So far we are progressing through the lenses of the main character Voya who has begun her journey to becoming a Witch. We see her fears about failing the calling and how it affects the family if she does.

It's a really good story so far.

I really do think it's going to be a good book. Yes it does have a little bit about black trauma but even the little I've seen mentioning slavery it's more uplifting in my opinion than it is like just having to talk about it again. Like there are moments where she talks about ancestors and the trauma that they have to live through and what they've done to help others like them during that time, which again to me is better than how other people talk about those part's history. It's hard to explain.

So here on February 25, 2022, I have begun and finish the first chapter of Blood Like Magic.

Why isn't anybody doing the hanahaki disease trope with Sarah and Bucky. It's perfect for the both of them. They're both too stubborn to admit to one another that they like each other. Both catch it but Bucky's less affected by it than Sarah. Neither one of them. Let's anyone else know that they haven't. They do their best to hide it. That is until Sarah collapses one day because she couldn't breathe. The family learned she has the disease. Sam takes AJ and Cass somewhere else as Sarah starts another coughing fit. Leaving Bucky and Sarah alone in the room. Sarah admits her feelings for Bucky and vice versa.

To acrane fans who say that Mel was trying to seduce Jace by swaying her hips, in the scene where she was walking and asked him to what did she owe him the pleasure.

She wasn't.

She's a curvy black woman and coming from a curvy black woman who has been accused of doing the same thing.

You do not know how many times I've seen Jayce/Viktor fans say that all she wanted to do was manipulate him and seducing him and then use that scene as proof. It's not proof, she's walking away from him. That's it. She can't help it that you sexualize her walking.

And trust me I know what I'm talking about. I was once trying to do something and a woman accused me of seducing her husband cuz he was staring at my ass. I was a minor at the time, not even minding them. You want to know what she told me. It was because I was swaying my hips when I walked and didn't even know I was doing it. You want to know why? Cuz it's not something curvy black women or black women with hips in general do on purpose.

In the book the darkest minds Chubs is originally a blue. Chubs is smart. He helps navigate the group with Maps comes up with plans he’s smart. Since he didn’t spend a lot of time in camp and a lot of it at home he read up a lot a lot of his knowledge was his own. It wasn’t from some power it was generally Hume being smart. 

Well, in the movie chubs is a green. If you don’t know what a green is they are geniuses in the most simplified explanation they are geniuses. Their ability is being a genius. 

So the question might be is why am I bringing this up.

I don’t know if it was intentional but to make chubs a green felt a little bit racist.  I know it might seem like I’m reaching I know this might seem like I’m paranoid. But I’ve thought about it for a while well since the movie came out to be honest. I felt that it was like Chubs couldn’t have been that smart on his own that the only way he could’ve been that smart was if he was a green. When generally chubs enjoyed learning in in the book was teaching Zu. It was a part of his personality to be the smart ass the literal smart ass. And so for them to change him to a green felt like they were saying all he could naturally be that smart.  like all the things he did in the movie he did the book but he wasn’t a green his ability was blue he could lift shit with his mind there was no reason to change him. 

I’ve read articles about it people say that it makes sense to him because he always felt like a green because he was naturally smart. Almost like he wasn’t supposed to be this naturally smart.

I know this is stupid but I wanted to get it off my chest.

Deception. An Outrage. Disgrace. By. arrowsshootyouforwards

This story is racist. The cheating trope of where Bucky sleeps with Sam while married to Sarah. It’s not Angst it’s racist. Whether the author meant to or not, whether it was their intention, they wrote a story for racist ass trope. 

Writers do this a lot of times when there is a black woman a part of the relationship.  especially if it’s interracial.

And it’s like cheating so that your ship happens is common but this is different.  with the cheating Trope usually there is another character that is created for one to cheat on. But almost always when a character was or is in a ship with a black woman they do this.

And what I mean is that Character A could be in a canonically relationship with someone on film but writers would write them with an oc. But when character A is hinted or is or was in a relationship with a black woman, they use that relationship. I’ve seen it where character A flirted with a black woman and they use that black woman for A cheat on.

That trope basically says a black woman isn’t worth loving. That there will always be someone better to love than a black woman.  i’m a call it the cheating on a black woman trope.

They’ve done this to West Allen. They’ve done this to Richonne and to Kelly and Alex.

Like with West Allen. They have Barry, mind you he’s been in love with Iris since he was 10, have him cheat on Iris with Patty or Caitlyn.  He barely shows interest in Patty or Caitlyn

People most commonly do this when the black woman is with a white person. Because obviously that can’t happen. 

I had commented to let the creator know that the trope was racist.  The creator now has moderated that fic comments. Which leads me to believe they knew what they did wrong and thought nobody would call them out on their bullshit. That might not be the case but it’s looking like it.
