Transformers:
Absolute Value: A yacht physiologist, resident wallflower of House Septentriones and generally an issue. (Affectionate) Septentriones’s annoying, loud, and only smart socially amica. [ #absolute value]
S. Septentriones: The space telescope mayor of Exautilos. Absolute Value’s reluctant friend and Amica. No spoilers, but a rather important character in the Exautilos: Anthologies. [#s.septentriones]
Sonar: A lifeboat aspiring first-responder. Absolute Value’s adoptive son. [#sonar]
Metal Cardbot:
Double Diamond: A snowmobile, international gold medalist racer that was convicted of murder and exiled to deep space. Guess where he ended up. Guess. [#double diamond]
Fire Watch: A jet ski, lifeguard on Machina that wished to be a Star Guardian. Black Diamond’s girlie pop sister that went missing days before Deus Machina died. [#fire watch, 0 posts]
Ace Paradise: A rather sensible mars rover that gained possession of a plot of land on Machina and turned it into an infamous casino. Double Diamond’s manager and friend. Spends his days hunting down cardbots that still owe him money. [#ace paradise]
Resonance Sentry: Ace’s ex-husband. A star guardian deep-space troop transport ship who likes a nice bottle of red wine (or the cardbot equivalent) a tad more than any good soldier should. Currently trapped in the Andromeda galaxy due to lack of fuel but has been spying on Jun’s team through Ace. [#resonance sentry]
Senator Septentriones is looking for a bodyguard. Too bad all his candidates are sentimental fools who desperately need a conjux instead of a government issued paycheck.
Or, five times Septentriones grudgingly played matchmaker, and one time he found the perfect mech.
Rating: G, this is literally me spewing fluffy cracky nonsense at 11 pm
Chapter one, Orion Pax / D-16
Senator Septentriones walked confidently, gingerly, and with a hint of a pep in his step. Septentriones, esteemed visitor of the Iacon Mines, was banging his head quite gently against a wall in the doorway of the miner’s barracks.
When he woke up this morning, he walked into four separate energon dispensers before he remembered where he was. The brochure had offered strong, sturdy bots and femmes, sparkling energon, and respect. In reality, what he got were mecha he still towered over most of them despite being a telescope, a stray Amica with no sense of direction, and a physical map that seemed predisposed to being unhelpful.
Septentriones grumbled something incoherent and turned back to watching the mecha file out of the barracks. None of them were up to his standards. Too bendy, too delicate. He winced slightly. Too bright. No wonder Abby had fled. These paint jobs would’ve started revolutions and murder plots by just being that annoying two vorns ago.
Another pair of mechs walked out of the room, pushing a cart of materials. This time, one caught Septentriones’ eye. Grey plating, broad shoulders, and a golden blur that must’ve been his optics. It paired quite well with the Megatronus Prime decal on him shoulder. Next to him, stood a striking blue and red mech. Septentriones couldn’t see it from here, but he could hear the smile in his voice.
Conjuxes. He hummed softly. That was sweet. He could certainly try to bring the red and blue one with this grey one. But that would mean dealing with two new mechs and Abby’s complaining, and worst of all, legal issues.
He sighed. If the grey one can live without his conjux for a few cycles… he only really needed a bodyguard for this tour. It was a hard ask, sure, but mecha do crazy things for money.
Septentriones straightened up from the doorframe and stopped in front of the mechs. He slapped what he hoped was a calming smile on his face and clapped the grey one on his shoulder.
“Congratulations! You’ve been chosen as a bodyguard candidate for the Senator of Voyatrex.” He manually overrode a few firewalls to put the legal documents on the grey mech’s (D-16, that was his name, nice ring doesn’t it-) personal HUD.
The flare of surprise in his field and the matching flicker of irritation and fear in the red and blue mech’s field was not intended. Oh well. He shrugged internally, collateral.
“The bodyguard for who now?” D-16 squinted up at him. “I’m sorry but I’m quite busy right now, (a faint echo of “D-16! Orion! Get your afts down here before I make you fragging regret it-“ sounded down the hallway) could I perhaps meet up with you later?” He looked like he regretted his words before he even said them.
Septentriones frowned down at him for a long moment. Then turned his gaze and frowned at the colorful one as well.
“I don’t believe so. I intend to depart soon. If you must converse with your conjux on the matter of you leaving temporarily, converse quickly.” He pushed pleasantness back into his field. Maybe there were others, more suited for his job? He doubted it but he was still above kidnapping.
Meanwhile, D-16’s face looked like it was inventing a whole new type of seizure. Orion was looking at him with blatant confusion and a hint of hurt in his expression.
D-16 manually reset his vocalizer. “I am not aware of being conjuxed?” He asked faintly blankly.
The Senator frowned even harder and pinged him a sense of disappointment. Then he gestured vaguely to Orion and D-16 had to spend a moment trying not to crash his logical processes.
Septentriones looked just as confused as D-16 felt. He was very sure they were conjuxes. No platonic relationship had this amount of.. whatever was happening here.
Mortified (slightly embarrassed) at his mistake, he turned around and left without another word, leaving the two alone again.
