if im being completely honest i think that a lot of wc tumblr could stand to be a little less negative All The Time. just my two cents

following up with some FAQ:

“is this post about any particular person?” of course not! i’m 22 years old and have a job i don’t vague people on my warrior cats blog that’s so immature. this post was about a wider phenomenon i see over the general scope of things

“so you think people should never be critical of the books?” please point to where i said that. i’m an autistic adhd nonbinary lesbian woman, of course i care about and think it’s completely fair and important to criticize the books for their many faults and flaws. you should do it! my point was just that focusing on all the stuff you hate about your interests, all the characters you hate, all the small details that make you angry, how you dislike everyone’s opinions All the time can’t be good for you. and the more people do it the more it creates a loop of people seeing each other posting angrily and just turns fandom spaces so stressful. i certainly don’t like seeing it

it’s a lot like doomscrolling to me, though not equally comparable considering i’m talking about warrior cats vs the real life news of the real world we live in, but it’s the best example I’ve got in terms of social media. but the more negativity you see on your timeline, the more it seems like Everything is evil and bad. that’s how people who sit and watch nothing but fox news all day come to be so angry and hateful. (again, in no way equally comparable in impact to warrior cats fandom) and while, just like the news, it is important to stay informed and aware, having a constant feed of stuff that makes you angry will only stack up on top of you and make you feel awful. let me take this as a chance to remind you to be aware of when you fall into a doomscrolling spiral. take care of yourself!!! signed, a person with anxiety who feels like shit every time she falls into it again

but, about warrior cats, obviously something drew you into these books and made you like them, can you remember what it was? think about it and let yourself appreciate it. i guarantee you have a favorite character. what drew you to that cat? did you connect with them and their story in the books personally? did they make you laugh? did they make you cry? are they the POV character of your favorite book? that’s definitely something to appreciate. did the books inspire you to draw, to create OCs? how long have the books been a part of your life? surely there’s a reason they’ve stuck around for you. you should always be aware and critical of the flaws present in the books, there’s no doubt about that, but you should also try to remember why you’re here. why do you have that warrior cats themed URL? why do you look through your favorite character’s tag to find new art of them? why do you remain in wc fandom spaces? yin and yang people!

This is sooooooo true and real and I think a lot of people forget that if you find yourself hating something more than you enjoy it, you need to find a new hobby! That hobby sucks ass! It doesnt even have to be forever but give urself a break. In a world of misery and hate dont let yourself fall victim to more negativity.

Anyways I finished stormclans folly. Writing was definitely different in some weird ways.

1. Why is everyone purring . Was that just me

2. I yearn for the day we skip birth scenes but maybe im too easily grossed out

3. I just dont agree w the take that starclan was made out to be the "good" or even right- honestly I think this book painted them in the worst light they've ever been seen before where these cats who were starving and desperate literally had no choice but to agree if they wanted to survive. Idk that was a crazy ride

4. Also something to be said that Gale who didn't go back to the forest (and starclan) lived a much less brutal life and found love so much purer, where stripe was completely miserable by the end riddled with regret. Idk.

Anyways final thoughts: it was entertaining. No masterpiece by any means. Stripestar was a MASSIVE piece of shit and im glad his ending was miserable. Gale was also awful, just in a different way. The way they literally dragged everyone along on that journey and how many ppl died omg... guys.. WHY COULDNT YOU JUST STEP DOWN AND HAVE A FAMILY OUTSIDE THE CLANS.

To add to the starclan part the way they literally sent someone who died along the journey to give goldenleaf a sign to go to the beach, Knowing they wouldn't trust anyone that was from starclan, leading them to believe they had their own ancestors trying to save them, but was actually starclan leading them to where galestar "dies".... you evil mother fuckers
